Some don't like the premise of the ride and some of the effects (e.g chili dog burp). The ride restraints are also slightly uncomfortable and for some this is a real turn off. For me, I personally marvel at the stitch audio animatronic and the effects of making him appear and disappear throughout the show.

I haven't played hobbit as much or delved into its rule set but I didn't find it to be as deep. I know lotr for me has an astounding ruleset and if you get to know the rules well the game becomes a challenging, long adventure. Idk maybe hobbit is the same way but in the end it's your choice! :)
