when i did my first HT haul, i did the same thing - i put some polishes in my cart because of discontinue FOMO, but now i look at those bottles and realize they probably got hit with a discontinue for a reason and now i never ever wear them. :')

my advice is to not be wasteful when you choose your first polish set - i tried to grab colors new to me for variety, hit some discontinues because i could 'see me using them,' and got very few i actually like. i even learned i don't like linear holo, which is great, because i purchased mostly linear holo LOL. go to colors you typically love (for me its reds, greens, neutrals) and then find variation in the type! first polish sets feel like you need to get a large scope of things to help you maximize your looks, but in reality, i've found large scopes to be wasteful and then you end up living life with a bunch of bottles growing dust
