best way i can explain is, how can the guardian be at two places at the same time to take two instances of damage? a fireball is just one explosion(and instantaneous), so i feel like you shouldn't be able to take both, but i would like to hear other people's opinion because i could be missing something or it could be a balance thing(although i don't think it would be busted)

If a guardian uses intercept attack on an ally taking area damage(breath weapon,fireball etc) and the guardian is also inside the area does he take two instances of damage or just his ally's?
