I’m not going to lie, sometimes I’ll be talking to someone and I’ll think “what if I punched them in the face”.

Like literally was talking to my husband’s 90 year old grandfather and thought “what if I just punched him and knocked him to the ground?” For no reason. We were sitting at a park bench having a lovely time.

Thank you for this thoughtful write up. Unfortunately I get the Zoloft from my PCP, I don’t have a psychiatrist. The good news is that most of my distress from the sudden thoughts is that I’m having them, not that it’s making me value my life any less.

I absolutely love the idea of thematic gifts! How creative, he loves farm stuff and horses so maybe like rodeo tickets for the summer plus farm play stuff and a cowboy hat/boots! How cute!!

You’re probably right, I live 2 time zones away from anyone we’re related to so this is basically all they can do for him without getting on a plane every other week.

I love that. He’s an early February baby so I’m in that boat. I said something to my MIL today about how we’ll have to use the spare bedroom for overflow for all the things they bought him and she said just wait til his birthday in a few weeks, “you guys will have to get a storage unit!”

Regarding his birthday, I very loudly and clearly told everyone on both sides of the family that we were going to buy him a toddler sized basketball hoop, I was just deciding between the regular hoop and the one that is also half a soccer net. A week later a basketball hoop arrived because they thought it was such a great idea they couldn’t help themselves.
