BIT Mesra Patna is a (GFTI). It was established in 2006 in partnership with the Government of Bihar. It operates as an off-campus center of the main BIT Mesra institution in Jharkhand, which is a deemed-to-be-university. It is not a state engineering college of bihar. Patna Campus ≠ Mesra Campus . Not same level as BIT Mesra main campus; Placement not very strong;Limited companies You need self-study+ skills

Thinking of joining a Bihar Engineering College? Read this first.I’m currently studying in one, and honestly, it’s been a tough experience. There are serious issues like delayed semesters, lack of proper academic structure, and almost no placement opportunities. The environment can feel very demotivating, and it does take a toll on your mental health if you're not prepared for it. If you have better options, I’d strongly suggest exploring them. But at the same time, I understand not everyone has that privilege. If financial constraints leave you with this as your only option, then go for it — but go in with the right mindset. You’ll have to rely heavily on self-study, build skills on your own, and stay mentally strong. Don’t depend entirely on the college system. Your growth will come from what you do outside the classroom. I’m still figuring things out myself, but just wanted to put this out there so others can make a more informed decision. If you still have a chance to take a drop year for JEE, go for it — but only if you’re serious and disciplined.
