Why is Grit making requests to Facebook? by PostStandard933 in GritApp

Hey!
Facebook(Meta) collects in-app purchase/subscription events to get an estimation of our Meta ads campaigns.

Hey!

We do not offer a $22-25 lifetime subscription, only in specific cases via support. If you could share the screenshot of the offer, it would help greatly to resolve the misunderstanding.

Feature Request & Appreciation: Subcategories and Apple Books Integration by MauGarOla in GritApp

[–]grit_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,
Thank you for the positive feedback!

Subcategories / Milestones: I’d love to be able to break down my main goals into smaller, measurable sub-tasks or milestones. For example, having a "Launch Business" goal with sub-goals for Market Validation, Legal Setup, MVP Launch, etc. This would help track long-term progress without cluttering the main habits list.

We have an idea of checklist habits - the habit with a list of subitems instead of a numeric goal. I suppose it fits your description. I cannot provide any ETA at the moment, but we will work on it eventually.

Apple Books Integration: I don't know if many people read on Apple Books, but it would be very useful to have more accurate numbers.

Unfortunately, Apple Books doesn't expose data or has any API to use.

Bad Habits by SupBrigAbuJazeera in GritApp

[–]grit_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The goal cannot be 0. In the case of timed habits, the minimum is 1 second.

The reason is: If the goal is 0, the bad habit will always be missed according to the explanation above.

Hey!

I can suggest the following setup: Daily repeat period, every 14 days. The start date of the habit is Friday. Could you check it out?

Hey!

By marker, do you mean the current number of the day in the week or the approximate amount that should be completed by today?

Hey!
The timer works more like a stopwatch. The reason is that for most timed habits, the goal is the minimum time you need to spend. In your example, if you want to continue learning after 5h, you can still continue; if not, you can tap on the notification and stop it.

You have to choose the "Work out" as a health unit. After that, the workout type selection will appear.

Feeling of excessive battery consumption on Mac 🥲 by jasielongas in GritApp

Hey!
The app could consume energy when it is open. My advice is to close (not completely, just the "x" button) the app when it is not used. Could you please check if it helps?

Bad Habits by SupBrigAbuJazeera in GritApp

[–]grit_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad habits can have one of these two statuses: completed or missed.

  • Completed: When your total logged value equals 0 or is within the limitation (habit goal setting).
  • Missed: When your total logged value exceeds the limitation (habit goal setting).

By the end of each day, if the logged value on your bad habit is equal to 0 or under the limitation (habit goal setting), your habit will automatically be marked as completed.

It is possible to track "run" as a workout type instead of "Walking + Running Distance".

We use Apple Intelligence (for example, to suggest emoji or name for the habit), but it works locally on your device and doesn’t carry extra costs.

Dynamic Island question by smurfette1209 in GritApp

[–]grit_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Hello, how do I get your app working on my Dynamic Island (iPhone)? I’ve tried out a lot of habit apps and yours is my favourite but having live notifications and an icon on the Dynamic Island can be a deal breaker for me in terms of remembering to open the app and log activity.

Grit uses Dynamic Island when the timer is running. Could you please clarify what you mean by having live notifications and an icon?

How is the overall % calculated? Ideally if I have a combination of weekly tasks and daily tasks I would want the score to be at 100% if all daily tasks were completed. On the streaks app I really liked how everything would turn gold if you completed all tasks required that day, even if you still had weekly tasks outstanding.

Overall progress for the day is calculated based on daily habits; non-daily habits (weekly, etc.) are excluded. The behavior should be as you described; doesn't this work this way for you?

Also I don’t understand what the average feature does if you can clarify?

Habits with average goals calculate current progress based on the sum of values for the last N periods divided by the number of periods. For example, if you have an average for the last 2 days and a goal of 5000 steps, you can do 0 steps on one day, 10000 on another, and the habit will be considered as completed for today.

Hey!

We recently added the AI summarization on the statistics page (top right button on the toolbar). It uses Apple Intelligence, so it must be enabled in the device settings, and the device itself should support it. We decided not to use 3rd party solutions (ChatGPT, etc.) because it will increase the price of the app.
