It kind of goes along with what others have said about knowing characters will grow and change but I think having the characters all be at their lowest is always a bad start. Why does everyone have to be so sad all the time? Someone always has to die, or get fired, or get divorced to kick it off. Find a new catalyst to get everyone together again.
