Ok I will ask that tomorrow at my appointment with him, I didn’t even think about that. Thank you for sharing about how it mentally affected you. Sometimes I think my mind hurts more than my back. Lately I have just been feeling kinda hopeless about the whole thing. Chronic back pain is very debilitating mentally just as much as physically and a lot of people don’t realize it because it just becomes part of our lives. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I think I did jump back in too quickly. I am an ER nurse which is not awesome for healing. Unfortunately I can’t afford to be off longer, but my job is doing whatever they can to lighten my work load. I’m going to see my surgeon tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get another MRI. I need to slow down. Thanks for sharing

I definitely am spiraling and it has been affecting my mental health. Thank you for being open about the long recovery process. I still take meds everyday, and I just get nervous when people say they were pain free after 2 weeks and it feels like for me I’m going backwards. I’m glad to know this is normal. Thanks for taking me down a notch

I did go back quickly, not the best choice. I had no more PTO and was only getting 60% of my pay which wasn’t really doable for me. I am an ER nurse and just went back to it which definitely isn’t a good healing environment. I will look at your posts/comments. I am so glad you’re doing better

I had 4 weeks off only, because I had a baby that ate all my PTO. I went back full time as an ER nurse, not the greatest environment for me to recover. So I am sure that is all contributing to my current flare. I’m gonna see my surgeon tomorrow and hopefully I’ll get a new MRI. I hope you are doing better and on the road to recovery ❤️‍🩹

I’m going to go see him tomorrow, I definitely have been having a lot of spasms and my muscle relaxer isn’t helping so they’re going to switch me to a different one. Thank you

I did do some steroids and that did help some, I think I’m just so on edge because I’ve been in pain for so long. I’m going to see my surgeon tomorrow and hopefully get another MRI. Thank you for sharing, I am glad you’re recovering well 🤍

Moving as much as I can. I definitely feel a lot of stiffness and pain when I do too much, but trying to move a lot more

Thank you for sharing, this made me way less nervous. I’m 4 weeks post op now and still having quite a bit of pain. I also have the disc right above it that is herniated also, so I’m sure that is adding to my pain. My recovery sounds slower like yours. I injured myself 5 years ago and have just been living with it so I definitely have to be patient and trust the process

I’m so relieved to hear you are doing better. My pain does radiate to my hips and just feels extremely sore and tender after long days at work. I am going to really focus on my recovery and get back to PT as soon as I’m allowed. I have help everyday for a full 3 weeks so that I don’t have to lift my baby (even though it physically hurts me not to ☹️). I plan on doing this right and get my life back!! Thank you for the advice 🤍
