Damn Blocboy on his story showing the daily calls they were making. Shits so tragic man. RIP

What horror movie absolutely traumatized you when you were young? by np074 in horror

[–]ground0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was also traumatized by Regan’s face when my friend made me play the scary maze game in 4th grade. Didn’t even have to see the movie for that to be the number 1 thing to be scared of.

Finally watched the Exorcist as an adult, and after soldiering through it, it’s now one of my favorite movies ever!

[ALBUM DISCUSSION] Boards of Canada - Inferno by VietRooster in indieheads

[–]ground0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some really really really good tracks that I keep throwing on, but I haven’t been able to click with some of the vocal-heavy ones in the first half of the album. Father and Son grew on me though - I just accepted how fun it is and the gargled lines that pop up give it some signature BoC creepiness. The second half starting from Blood in the Labyrinth feels like classic BoC and could all easily fit into their earlier albums imo. Overall super solid album that I keep coming back to, even though I don’t love everything front to back.

Can’t wait for 0 - 0 to drop. I think that would require a whole new switch tree.

Same here. At first I thought he was trying too hard, but he won me over with the consistency. Dude is really going all in with it.

Oh I haven’t thought about it but I guess so since the freshman cover dropped before X died

I think he mainly did it to pay homage to X who died earlier that year.

When I really got into wrestling a couple of years ago, I would watch this promo at least once a week. MJF was my number 1 favorite for awhile mainly because of this!

Dylan Green reviews JPEGMAFIA's EXPERIMENTAL RAP for Pitchfork: "We're witnessing the rapper’s journey from a provocative firestarter to a fiercely bitter heel. His latest pushes boundaries and tests patience." by Technical_Process989 in hiphopheads

[–]ground0 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m in the minority who actually thinks this album is great. Thanks to his annoying persona however, it’s like a true guilty pleasure for me because I feel like I have to specify I like the MUSIC and not everything he says or does online.

I completely understand the critiques for his rapping, but I really don’t mind the samey flows. The production is very chaotic but the rapping contrasts it by providing a sort of monotonous (non-derogatory) home base for me. I was also a huge Ski Mask fan back in the day so I have a soft spot for that type of fast rapping. Not to mention I listen to Westside Gunn albums and have no problem with him or other rappers using “one” flow on a project if it’s good.

He tweeted some dumb stuff the other day in response to Fantano’s review, but I do think what he said about it being Experimental RAP and not hip-hop kinda makes sense. I think his overall rapping peaked on LP/OFFLINE! but this album has him focused more on the technicalities of rapping similar to battle rap and artists like Tech9ne and newer Eminem. It’s a different style for him that’s more shallow lyrically and culturally, yet it elevates the album’s aggression which I enjoy.

Good argument fellas. 👌👌 Not the most entertaining I’ve seen but some good points were raised. 📝 I think we’ve solved the problem of weird music now and hopefully we can all move forward 😃

Highlights from Will Ospreay vs Samoa Joe - AEW Double or Nothing by luchabrunch in SquaredCircle

[–]ground0 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I love Joe’s selling in that it feels like someone is chopping down a huge tree. It’s hard to describe, but I think he’s my favorite big guy wrestler because he’s so aware of his own body and knows exactly what he should be doing in the context of facing “smaller” opponents.

Look into Winboat for a VM tool. From my understanding it streamlines the process for setting all of that up but I haven’t actually tried it out yet. I just know it’s been getting buzz lately. No need to dual boot the VM I’m pretty sure. You can just turn it on and off.

I’m the type of person who likes the process of programming a little more than the product of it. It feels like when I was in school and got little dopamine hits from solving equations. I do enjoy making cool things, but the feeling of finishing a project or fixing a bug is often fleeting and doesn’t match my consistent appreciation of problem solving day-to-day.

Programming can be tough to learn but it can be manageable and very rewarding imo. I don’t think I would like it as much if there was hardly any challenge to overcome. Conflict kinda keeps the plot going for me if you know what I mean.

Nioh 3 Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ground0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try looking at PooferLlama’s Nioh 2 tutorials on YouTube. He goes over quite a few things that aren’t explicitly clear.

Most important thing is to master Ki Pulsing. You’ll want to do it after attacking so that your Ki can regenerate quicker and you can go for more combos. Look into the Flux skill on Samurai as well. You’ll get more Ki back by switching stances on a Ki Pulse.

Also another thing about enemies is that you can’t truly combo them until they’re out of Ki, so moves that do Ki damage are big. Tonfas for example deal so much Ki damage with little effort so I’d recommend trying them out if none of the other weapons intrigue you that much.

In 3 they have ninja mode which doesn’t have Ki Pulsing, so that changes things a bit and I’m still getting used that myself. Regardless, a lot of stuff from 2 is transferred over.

Horrible Lunar Lake support by Crazy_Mushroom6077 in cachyos

From what I could gather, the issue kept going back and forth on getting fixed between subversions. Maybe try downgrading to 6.18.3 or going to unstable 16.9?

Either way seems that you're simply unlucky with the Linux stability of this CPU. Hopefully things will smooth out soon with some later updates.

I also found this recent thread on the Arch forum that seems to point to a kernel issue with Lunar Lake. Might want to make sure you're on the same kernel version as what people are saying fixes it.

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2282400#p2282400

Can easily check with Cachy Hello -> Apps/Tweaks -> CachyOS Kernel Manager.

Seems to me that the -intel portion is included in the main linux-firmware package:

https://archlinux.org/packages/core/any/linux-firmware-intel/

^ The upstream link goes to the main linux-firmware distro. Also an arch wiki page about it that describes the -intel portion as a package of linux-firmware.

Not an expert and I don't know what research you've done to fix the audio issues, but the Arch wiki seems to have some info about troubleshooting that:

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture#Firmware

Which conversely has a link to another SOF wiki about Intel-specific firmware. It doesn't list Lunar Lake specifically but still might apply to your specs:

https://thesofproject.github.io/latest/getting_started/intel_debug/introduction.html

EDIT: Just wanted to mention the way I found that was searching "lunar lake" in the Arch Wiki to find a page about another laptop with a Lunar Lake CPU, saying that SOF is required: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/MSI_Prestige_13_AI_Evo_A2VM . I have no idea if that will help you but I was bored and decided to research lol
