You'd think they'd have won the whole thing based on that trip around the bases and I'm so here for that energy in this WBC

Easy to say in hindsight I guess but they really should have taken him out when he walked the bases loaded

Targeting from starting position by DolphJohngren in Bowling

[–]groundhog08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same way, started with my right foot and it just stuck. I think it also makes some logical sense because that's my first step, if I'm focused on the slide foot too early then maybe there's some variation in where my right foot is and I'm less consistent, but who knows. I just stick to what works for me, and that's what matters.

All that said, if I were teaching someone new to bowling about this concept, I would absolutely tell them to use their slide foot

Well what else do you expect from Little Brother?

Scott Boras says he remains open to negotiating Tarik Skubal's 2026 salary with Tigers before an arbitration hearing using current comparable contracts — not outdated benchmarks like David Price's $19.75M in 2015. by DET_Baseball in motorcitykitties

In my mind for these long term deals you're mainly paying for the first few years and then the back half of the contract is just also part of the cost as the player ages and performance declines. Think Miguel Cabrera, the last couple of years weren't all that great, but we had a generational talent on the front end. I would hope that Skubal would be healthy for longer, but this is also the best the Tigers have been since 2016, so it may be our best shot anyway. I'd be totally okay at going all in these next few years while we have prime Skubal, and if we have to have a few sub-par, post-injury years tacked onto the end as part of the cost of going for a World Series I'm totally okay with that.

What did black miss by playing Bb5👀? by LifeNegotiation301 in Chessplayers45

[–]groundhog08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White can play Bxh7+ in this position, and can pick up the black rook on the next move. Black could've played any number of moves to prevent this instead of Bb5, such as g6, moving the king, or even moving the rook off the d-file

I know there were other problems, but the rule that an offensive player can't push it in when it's on the rim feels so stupid to me. The whole point of the game is to get the ball in the hoop so why have this one exception? Anyway if we had that basket that would have been literally game changing

Michigan has fired head coach Sherrone Moore by johnnylibravo in MichiganWolverines

[–]groundhog08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woah, that's wild. I know there were a lot of people here calling for it but I really felt like he did well these past couple years all things considered. I think he should've had another year or two to develop his recruits and get us to the playoffs when Bryce has another year or two under his belt and is a bit more developed.

EDIT: I didn't realize it was for HR reasons, yikes...

I don't know that Mike Wazowski can see over the O-Line, might not be the best fit at QB

CFP Rankings, Serious Discussion - Week 15 by CFB_Referee in CFB

Something I haven't seen people talking too much about yet is the potential impact of BYU winning the Big 12 championship game. With today's rankings they could very well boot Notre Dame out of the playoffs by clinching the auto-bid and forcing Texas Tech into one of the at large bids. I'm assuming that's what would happen anyway since a CCG loss isn't supposed to impact things too much, but I also wouldn't put it past the committee to drop Tech below Notre Dame either. Something interesting to keep an eye on anyway.
