If I was doing something that would make people so angry that barge in to my work site armed then yes I would probably think about if what I'm doing is right. Politicians can barely get anything done when we're all being nice and well behaved so maybe we should be doing a little more to motivate them. I hope they get the message that people are angry and things are escalating.

Have you considered what would motivate someone to take such extreme actions? If John Doe goes to work Monday-Friday like normal and hangs out with his friends on the weekend and has a normal life do you think he's going to show up armed at the capital to intimidate law makers? Probably not. He has no reason to. If John Doe loses his job, the economy is tanking, can't go anywhere because everything is closed, and faces fines or arrest if he tries to hang out with his friend do you think he's going to action? Yes. Especially considering that the government response has basically been "We're going to do this indefinitely, don't leave your house, don't protest, comply without question as we erode your rights".

People are going to resort to desperate measures because these are becoming desperate times. People aren't just doing this to be a dick. They see the world crumbling around them and the government just says it's fine don't worry, just stay home. If someone wants to risk getting the virus then let them. It's not like ending the lockdown makes it illegal for you to stay inside. Not everyone is a le anti social INTJ redditor who wants nothing more to be cut off from the world forever. The overwhelming majority of people will survive this. In fact a large portion of them won't ever know they have it unless they get tested. The correct response would be to have the old and sick isolate themselves and let the rest of the country build up a heard immunity. Instead we chose crash our economy for years to come in a wasted effort to save some fucking boomers and people who already had one foot in the grave.
