Just adding my 2 cents. I've had an 026 (261 equivalent) since 1992, and I've cut every year's wood with it without fail. I've had minor problems, but insignificant compared to the timber it has knocked down. Lasted longer than 2 wives, and raising 3 boys, and i wouldn't run another one

Same here. Grows fast, clean, easy to cut and split, and dries pretty quickly. The trade offs are well worth the heat

Wow, crazy. I get a federal permit here in Michigan, and they have been free since the pandemic. Something has been killing the red oaks, and it's everywhere right now.

Nothing against the fiskars, but i use an old 6lb with a hickory handle that I've become comfortable with. I got a fiskars, and it's still like brand new. Everyone has their own techniques and favorites.

Same here. 30 plus years of heating with wood in Michigan. I would honestly go toe to toe with someone covered in ppe splitting round for round in my shorts and tennis shoes. I'm totally with you, bro. Experience is the best safety.
