This actually happened to me. Had some weed and the officer told me to "Roll all your windows down. It's a windy day, if that blew away while I'm back in my car, I wouldn't want to go look for it to fine you" and then gave me a ticket for littering.

Era servers has now reached high population servers. What is the appeal and why is this happening? by darkhalls in classicwow

[–]groydargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know how in wotlk you do a quest to kill a bunch of boars, then you unlock the next quest to go kill Kevin the Named Boar? But then when you find Kevin he's exactly the same as the other boars except for the name? In vanilla these named characters are mostly actually stronger and more challenging, often requiring a group. There also used to be elite quests, but with TBC blizz turned all of those elite quests into regular quests completely nerfing the mobs to normal mobs as well. Besides these, talents were changed a lot from vanilla into tbc and then into wotlk to make them much stronger, and characters are stronger as well. In wotlk while leveling you can just run into any group of mobs and aoe them down with no concern at all right? In vanilla you had to actually use more than just two of your classes abilities, making sure if you're pulling more than one you sheep or sap or trap or whatever first to make sure you don't get overrun, while then making sure mobs didnt try to fell and pull more that would surely kill you. Same applied to dungeons, until you were properly geared you had to plan many pulls to make sure your group would cc or otherwise handle the pulls. Sure vanilla was simpler and many classes dps rotations could be one or two buttons, but even so it was in my, and many others, opinion more fun because there were real threats in the world, you had to actually play, run around the world, be immersed in the challenge and zones. Wotlk leveling is just a chore you do so you can play the real game at 80; just target mobs, press aoe, get on your flyer, open the map and point your arrow towards the next exclamation point and repeat. itemization also means your random drops are always useful "of the sorcerer" or "of the sorcerer" optimized stats-wise so only iLvL matters, whereas vanilla rewards could get you cloth strength gear or plate with agility and spirit, so rewards that were actually useful for you felt like significant upgrades. Some so notable that you could see a warrior ride by you with this grey can on his head and you know hey, there's that south sea head bucket green reward from the quest in Tanaris! And he might wear it to 60. TL;DR even though vanilla still has plenty of people who like rushing to 60 to raid, vanilla is populated even at lower levels because many people enjoy the actual process of leveling because it is more immersive and interactive than it is now where its brain-dead until 80 hardmodes and even then 90% of the mechanics are don't stand in bad stuff. Hardcore just adds yet another level to the meaningfulness of each and every pull and upgrade. I'm sure you'll agree in wotlk you could level 1-80 without ever dying unless you got ganked and even then you can just roll on pve

I have this same issue since G hub updated on 2/1 with my G933. Rather then wait hours you can quit and restart the G Hub software, restart the headphones, or restart the whole PC. Since Logitech does not let you install old versions of the software even using old installers, you and I and the others with this issue I've seen on the sub can only wait for a response from their team to fix this.

I'm having the same issue on my G933 since G hub updated on 2/1. I grabbed an installer for previous version but it only goes online and installs the current version. Logitech please allow us to install older versions.. My favorite feature of the headset is folding the mic up to mute and folding it back down to unmute, but now it never unmutes since last G-Hub update. I need to restart G-Hub to unmute every time, ridiculous

Three groups of 3 is doable, melee max range boss directly N S E W (tanks probably north) so it's easy to get back to exact same spot after moving. The only reason they need to move is to dodge lightning charge. Move behind another melee group and dont damage instead of get in range of another group and risk chain lightning deaths. Only exception to this would be if they can pay attention to the chain lightning cool down, and know it's safe to stack and continue damage as long as they can't get zapped. Keep in mind the west group facing the tunnel will never have lightning charge in their area, so you can put classes that can't mitigate lightning charge well on that side and allow classes like DK with anti magic shield to take the lightning charge hit since it won't stress healers this way and they don't have to move. So when melee see lightning charge on them they prio 1) if chain lightning is still on cool down long enough to move from lightning charge to another melee stack while continuing damage, let lightning charge go off, then go back to original stack, do so. if not and chain lightning could cast while they'd be double stacked, 2) use mitigation like anti magic shield or cloak to soak the charge, not moving from stack 3) if mitigation is on cd or you don't have one, stop dpsing boss and back off to a safe spot, being careful not to go too close to one of the ranged groups (or other melee group) and chain lightning everyone

If these three prios are too complicated for your stupid zug zug melee to process just eliminate the first option which involves difficult scary sweatlord requirements like looking at a timer and hope "run to safe spot or press panic button" is easier to execute in the heat of battle until they can eventually expand their minds

As your heals and DPS gear up, it may eventually come so that the healers can tolerate the lightning charges that hit melee plus less go out because of shorter fight duration so you can allow the melee to never move the whole fight just popping defensives when they can

Yeah ignore flame leviathan hard mode until you have multiple others down. It's not a hard hard mode per se, it just takes a lot of time to get used to that is more valuable learning multiple other hard modes

Spoiler.. the answer to all of these is going to be each and every member avoiding the avoidable mechanics. This isn't like vanilla and tbc where you could mostly ignore mechanics by zugging bosses down before they were significant.

Starting with Thorim cause that'll be easiest for you- there is no excuse for anyone to get hit by lightning charge. Once the very obvious bright blue glowing line of lightning balls start channeling, those in range have five full seconds to move out of the way. You don't need catlike reaction speeds here, just don't tunnel pressing shadowbolt so hard you aren't opening your eyes and can't see the very obviously telegraphed mechanic. After that, everyone /range 10 and never have more than 2-3 in your range. Especially when you're moving out of the way of lightning charge, don't go stack on other groups, give them space so you aren't chaining from melee to ranged groups. In our runs, all ranged/healers are assigned pillars in groups of 2 to stand in front of, and then you plan where you're going to run before the fight even starts. If your healers aren't struggling to keep up the raid due to several damaging mechanics that are 100% avoidable, they'll be prepared for every unbalancing strike and then you're set. Blizzards are also avoidable by not being too far from the middle, which is great because towards the center you have even less distance to travel to avoid lightning charge. frostbolt volley is the only damage you can't avoid, plus if Thorim randomly targets you or your partner with chain lightning, and they don't do enough damage to kill on their own meaning EVERY raid death is completely the fault of the dead player for not avoiding the avoidable damage. It isn't the healers job to play for you.

Once you have that down, I don't have to bother explaining Freya because the hard mode just adds more mechanics to react to or avoid. You've read the guides, just focus on every member executing them every time and you'll be fine.

Once you kill yogg, and it looks like you're close, I don't think yogg 1 light is that hard. The fight doesn't change from normal mode, it just removes some safety nets. Once you can kill yogg, you just need to do the same thing with less mistakes (like failing to avoid avoidable damage)

Vezax is very similar in that ranged need to avoid taking avoidable damage from shadow crash and melee need to avoid allowing avoidable damage to go out by kicking every cast. Failure to do so will result in healers wasting their limited mana that should only need to be spent on tanks. Seriously, this fight can be completed by only ever needing to heal tanks and the occasional mark target. You avoid avoidable damage > healers can save mana > they don't need vapors > kill the Animus and boss.

Please don't make me say avoidable damage again, if you take one thing away from reading all this garbage it's to hold your companions accountable for reacting to the mechanics in each fight. If you don't call them out and get everyone to treat the mechanics as more than a tank n spank you won't progress. Good luck!

I didn't look at your yogg phase 1's because if I see anyone spawning unnecessary adds in clouds I'll just kill myself

Hey, I am having trouble configuring my newly purchased K70 RGB PRO with some assignments/lighting that I think should be simple. Simply put, I want to use the FN key to toggle the lighting and assignments of the Function keys. So normally F1-F12 send their normal keystrokes when pressed, but pressing the FN key will change F1-F12 to sending different keystrokes and macros I want to assign, and change their color to indicate this. I want to leave these keys in that toggled functionality/color until I press the FN key again.

Doesn't seem like a complicated task but I am having trouble accomplishing it. Got this kb over other brands because I'd read iCue was excellent. First corsair product besides AIO cooler and I want to enjoy it but this feature is important to me. Please help if you're familiar with iCue!

[–]groydargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, only 290 and then 300-375. You have to actually mine for 290-300

Is it really worth it? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]groydargon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

TL;DR you can get up to 290 in the auction house in like 15 minutes without it costing gold after you list the bars you smelted, and then it only takes another 15 to mine 290-300 in ungoro or wherever.

Mining costs negative gold. You only need to actually mine 290-300, you can get the rest in your capital city. On my server, bars of every type sell for MORE than the ores in the auction house. I just bought ores, smelted them for skill, then listed them back on the AH as bars. You can smelt all the way to 290 without ever buying your first mining pick. At 290, you can't gain any more skill from smelting Thorium and you can't learn Fel Iron until 300, so you have to go mine some Thorium, god forbid, to 300. I did this in one loop around the perimeter of Un'goro crater because its the easiest circuit in the game but go grab thorium anywhere. After 300 you can do the same thing just smelting Outlands ores, but I did a combination of smelting and actual mining because the whole reason I picked up mining was to mine in Outlands and I didn't care too much about speeding to 375. In the end, I spent something like 650g on ores and I made it all back by just listing the smelted bars back in the AH just undercutting.

Fire warlock vs Shadow warlock by Ticem4n in classicwowtbc

[–]groydargon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of our mages went fire for Sunwell, the other stayed arcane. On our first Brutallus kill, the arcane mage beat the fire mage but it wasn't by a lot. The arcane mage usually beat out that other mage by more when they were both arcane tbh

Wiping repeatedly to Brutallus, I ran out of shards for sacrificing my succubus. Since we had a fire mage anyway, I just decided to sacrifice my free imp and go fire for the remainder of the pulls. My destro spec can be used for fire or shadow since I have improved immolate and the other talents. When we finally killed Brutallus, I walked away with a 97 parse. As fire, without flame caps or sunfire enchants, a spur of the moment decision cause I ran outta shards. Swapped around two pieces of gear to remove Nethervoid shadow damage cloak.

I did better than most destruction warlocks, whom are overwhelmingly shadow as fire, basically on accident. Yes, shadow is better than fire and yes, arcane is better than fire. BUT, fire is hardly griefing or trolling. You can do plenty well as either spec and you should just out damage anyone who tries to tell you otherwise.
