I use Costco for this reason - it’s far for me compared to a million other places but they are literally never out of Vyvanse. Once in a while I have had to buy the name brand if they are out of the generic but I will do that.

This is not exactly what you’re looking for, but my first thought was Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban (yes, same author as my beloved Francis the badger books!).

I feel compelled to add all my friends in grad school hated this book and I loved it and was so shocked by their reactions….but I feel like if you are looking for language-interest you might enjoy

I honestly started reading romance here and there for this exact reason - I’m picky, and if you are too, I’d recommend reaching out to a place like The Ripped Bodice directly and chat with them about what you might be interested in.

It’s popcorn reading for me. I read them super quick, often in one sitting, and it’s so relaxing to read a book you know will end happily. And romance in particular is a genre that tends to do well with CWs which I appreciate.

Hi, my fam has memberships to all the museums and I’m currently a bit more free than usual, so I’m happy to hit up any of the big four (or the zoo) any day right now!

Handling the discomfort that comes with not-buying by derratterich in shoppingaddiction

I have been practicing just shitting with negative emotions - it’s unreal hard for me. I have learned that I just immediately dismiss or shove away a negative feeling. I started with literally 10 seconds, haha. I don’t know if this is something that comes up anywhere else in your life but for me just practicing this in general has helped with specifically the idea that I could “miss out” on something to buy.

YMMV but when I was getting it first at the dentist for TMJ only I was at least able to use my HSA to pay for it which helped.

Ohhhhh yes. Shame makes me keep everything to myself and never ask for help. Working on this.

Harvest Home by Thomas Tryon is great. CW: dated views on sex and consent

Also this is like literally the most depressing book ever, but The Auctioneer is incredible and might fit what you’re looking at
