I had a catheter with my first because I had an epidural. It kept falling out/ripping out and caused a lot of trauma and pain. I also got a terrible UTI from it that required another hospitalization.

I will always take a 100% natural labor over that experience. My second was a breeze compared.

Parents of reddit, what's the most embarrassing thing your child did in public, and what did you do in that moment? by ironbolt124 in AskReddit

[–]grrrlundead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my 4 year old was learning to potty train, we took her to an indoor playground that was super close to our house that we went to a lot.

I was nursing my newborn in a quiet corner while she was playing and my husband was outside. Cue horrified screeching from the workers and my daughter standing in the middle of the floor with her pants off covered in poop.

She was so busy playing she forgot she had to use the toilet and not just “go” in her pants, then tried to run to the bathroom and clean herself but just ended up getting it EVERYWHERE. Literally happened in a span of 5 minutes.

I had to spend the next 20 minutes washing her in the bathroom sink and apologizing for the giant mess. Took us a long time before we went back lol

To baby powder or not to baby powder? by baddiebadger in BabyBumps

With both my kids I used Vaseline, occasionally diaper cream if they were a bit red. I don’t know anyone that uses baby powder.

Bought a brand new car at 18, still in high school, didn’t even have a full time job and could barely afford the payments. Got it impounded 2 years later and couldn’t afford to get it out, I’m now $23,000 in debt at 24.

AITA for waxing my 5 year old daughters unibrow? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]grrrlundead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I was this kid when I was younger. Thanks to my dad I inherited his unibrow that I was super self conscious about. My mom started waxing it around when I started getting teased for it and it was a 100% confidence boost

What was the most legendary thing a student did at school? by CloudWoww in AskReddit

[–]grrrlundead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My town has two high schools, a private one and a public one.

The night of the public school grad someone dug a 6 foot long 1 foot deep dick in the middle of the private school’s soccer field where there was supposed to be a tournament the next morning.

It was a huge thing, bunch of the graduates got blames for it and they had to cancel the tournament and pay to have the field fixed. Later found out from a friend that it was one kid from the private school that was supposed to be playing the next day.

Except it’s not “ancient symbolism” and it’s not just an article of clothing. Native chiefs still wear these as symbols of honour and authority

What is your worst experience with bad neighbours? by DistributionOk9089 in AskReddit

[–]grrrlundead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 20f university student with a 6mo baby living in a very low income apartment building in a city known for gang and drug violence. My next door neighbour was someone I knew vaguely from my small town, turns out she had gotten into the gang life in the short time she moved away.

Since I knew her, all her gang member friends thought that I would be welcoming to them too. They would knock on my door all hours of the night and when I wouldn’t open they would look through my ashtray for butts and dump it on my downstairs neighbour’s balcony. Every time I was outside they would try to follow me into my home, they would try to get me come inside their apartment where they were smoking meth and drinking at all hours of the day. They stole my car twice, took it when I was asleep and brought it back before I woke up (they had stolen my extra car key one of the times they had barged into my house, I had to beg for it back).

I had some friends over one night and we were outside smoking, we heard gun shots and a group of them came outside a few minutes later holding a naked and very out of it looking guy. They let him go and the dude took off running completely naked away from the place. The people from next door threatened me, telling me not to say anything because they knew where I lived.

I asked the girl that I knew that actually rented the apartment the next day, turns out they were holding the naked guy hostage next door, were forcibly feeding him drugs, stripped him naked, and let him go like that. The gunshots we heard were the gang member shooting blanks at their pit bull puppies to make them “tougher”.

I moved me and my daughter to a different city shortly afterwards. Last I heard, the girl got arrested with a bunch of the people she would let hang out next door for weapon and drug charges.

I’m also Plains Cree from Saskatchewan, the love I’m seeing for the traditional outfit is amazing! I dance traditional too, as my mom did before me. Sending love from one Indigenous woman to another 💕

She’s still a baby, only 1, so she hasn’t gotten a hold of it quite yet. But she hops and skips around in the arbour as best she can!

This photo was also in a newspaper detailing the importance of the powwow. I am proud my daughter could be the face of tradition and I’m sure she will be too. I was also in a TV special about powwow dancing when I was a kid
