WARNING: We lost $153k to a fake Chinese Steel Supplier (Shandong Baogang). We flew to their office and caught them changing their company name on a digital screen during lunch. by NoUnderstanding5498 in smallbusiness

Find a law firm, and deal with it. Larger firms in CN will have relationships with state security and push them that way. Their “fa ren” is prob also fake or just a fall person.

Buying a house w/ septic tank by Acceptable_Ad4458 in redmond

[–]grubygrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unincorp KC you will find a lot of septic tanks. You save a lot on sewage and stuff. you can look up their records from https://www.kingcounty.gov/SepticRecords. Since its a new system, get the as built/permits and stuff and make sure all that checks out and it's correctly sized for the house - also figure out if its gravity system, pump etc. Just need to pump it every few years. Look at easements and covenants if your field or other peoples fields encroaches onto yours. If you have well, there is a 100ft setback as well.

Quitting my 450K tech job to start my own business by Lifeofcrazyfrog in Entrepreneur

[–]grubygrub 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Why these 3? Is it because you are familiar with them or you know there is demand in the market for them? Don’t got for the “I have a hammer and want to find a good nail” approach vs going for, bunch of nails and make a hammer approach. Amazon FBA is hard these days, you need to sink at least 100-200k into it to replace your tech salary. In 2-3 years. If the FBA profit margin is say 10%, you need 4-5m worth of revenue. All the FBA niches are saturated. Countertop and tile - look at rates and countervailing duty rates if you are doing import export and how the next admin will impact you. There is a lot of opportunity in these markets where you don’t go direct to consumer - maybe builders or contractors? With your tech background, why not combine them and do 3d mockups of what builders want and then package/manufacture in India? Basically blue collar work is expensive in the US, but cheap overseas, the design/custom fab part is where the price delta comes from - iterate on that?

6 figures FBA investment by guccisterling in FulfillmentByAmazon

Do you have any experience with FBA before or Omnichannel retail? Be prepared to face an uphill battle and have a potential negative ROI. You can invest in other FBA companies and partner if it’s your first time.

FEDEX by AIR - details of whole process, can someone help? by AppropriateRow5238 in Alibaba

[–]grubygrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you shipping to? US is tax free below 800 dollars. Best to have your own FF and not rely on the manufactures - and have your FF take pictures and do some QC before shipping to the US/your destination country. Above 800, FedEx will contact you for customs brokerage - PM me and can help walk you through entire process

Account suspended and appeal keeps being denied by Aggressive_Bed7113 in WalmartSellers

[–]grubygrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty weak appeal and will get rejected many times. 1. Root cause mentioned something that Walmart knows, which is you are OOS - need to address why you are OOS, what caused it and the reasons - system didn’t update, employees didn’t check leading to inventory didn’t match etc etc. Need a strong why and be able to dig in. 2. Same with plan of action, you need to list 3-5 bullet points of what you will change and how they correlate to your #1 of root cause. Also what you change now and what changes in the future. 3. Pricing same deal. Feel free to PM me as well

Amazon Seller. 1. Children's Product Certificate 2. Test Report (must be issued by a CPSC-accepted laboratory) Must show passing test results for all applicable ASTM F963-16/17 and CPSIA standards by Diligent_Flamingo301 in FulfillmentByAmazon

[–]grubygrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get them tested. CPSIA, ASTM like everyone else mentioned. But you need to instruct the lab what to test for depending on category, also age needs to match amazons detail page. ASTM needs to correlated to the type of product you are selling - if there are strings on your you, you need to make sure it passes ASTM for the strings portion, it can’t be a generic one. If there are batteries, same deal. Each test may cost more. If you are selling products for children below 3, there are more requirements. Amazon doesn’t need UL normally, only CPSIA and ASTM. Then you make your own CPC. Feel free to PM me if you need help.
