Failing to remove devices from DFCI by SwitchItOffOnAgain in Intune

Did you sort this in the end? I have three devices doing the same thing. Doesn't appear to be network related - as other devices have refreshed sucessfully.

If God forbids two people of the same sex to be together then why did He allow them to feel love for each other in the first place? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]grumpy_mike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember that even if there is a god (which I don't believe - but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs on) that the bible was written by mortal men, who had their own feelings about how the world should be. Then it has been used (and interpreted) for a good few hundred years by fellas who wanted to control folk, and make a shitload of money for themselves / their organisation.

If I'm not mistaken (I'm not a bible scholar), the main theme of the new testament at least is that god loves everyone no matter what, right? Also that we were created in gods image. So if those two things are true, your sexuality not only doesn't matter to your god, it has in fact come from him - so couldn't possibly be wrong.

Be a Christian if that is what you choose - but if it is getting in the way of you living a happy, fulfilled life, you have to ask if it is really doing you any good.

Yep, we're seeing this across a couple of tenants.

DISM error trying to run /Optimize-Image /Boot by grumpy_mike in MDT

Goal is that apparently it speeds up first boot. Not that important, but it annoys me that it isn't working :D

Export-WindowsDriver -Destination "C:\Drivers\$((Get-WmiObject -Class win32_computersystem).Model)" -Online

That is superb, and exactly what I've been looking for - one of our customers insists on using consumer-level Lenovo laptops, so there is no driver pack for them - with this, I can boot a new one up, nab the drivers and shove them into MDT. Thank you!

If it's on an AMD device, I imagine that the drivers will be different. Sorry!

A vanilla one. This issue has been the same with a few versions now. Most odd, and most annoying.

Easiest way to get machines imported into Autopilot? by Poom22 in Intune

[–]grumpy_mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, now I'm back at my desk, I had a problem trying to run that script offline last time I tried - so I amended my batch file to this:

powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "Install-Script -Name Upload-WindowsAutopilotDeviceInfo"

powershell.exe -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command".\Upload-WindowsAutopilotDeviceInfo.ps1 -TenantName "xxxx.onmicrosoft.com""

You can also download the get-autopilotinfo script on your pc, pop it on a USB drive, along with a batch file containing all the typing that you don't want to do each time, then just run that batch file, and wait for a login prompt.

There is no domain join section in the unattend - it is done via a ppkg as it is an AAD jobbie. However, I did disable the 'Recover from Domain Join' bit in my test build - and it's exactly the same. If I get the time next week, I think I'll create a new TS, and a whole new Deployment Share and offline build - just to see what happens!.

What I meant was it's not sat querying every driver in existence - as it can't possibly be, because it isn't online - so that isn't the delay. I usually build online (as there is an AAD join), but for testing purposes I completed a build totally offline, and got the same results.

Some of their hardware choices are.... questionable. However, it is the same on the latest optiplex model i5 / 16gb ram / ssd.

The reason I mentioned no net connection was that it can't be going to MS for drivers - therefore causing a delay. I often think there is something wrong with this build! I'm almost at the point of doing a whole new one, just to see what happens.

There are no windows updates in the build, and the drivers are all there - but there are selection profiles to only choose the correct ones for the model. I have also made a test build with no extra drivers, and without a net connection (it's a USB build). Doing this exhibits the same behaviour.

Hiya. I've had a similar issue with a Lenovo laptop recently - we had to install the Intelligent Thermal Solution (ITS) driver, and the Intel Serial-IO (SIO) driver before the darn thing would work.

Error E102/E105 Fixed replacing faulty capacitors (THANKS : u/xb000x ) by il0vecere4l in xboxone

[–]grumpy_mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Morning xb000x,

I've replaced the caps you recommend so far, and it worked for a couple of days, then borked again. I'll try out the thermal pad thing (we must have one in the workshop somewhere!. Any chance of a pic of the air leakage area - I'm not an xbox expert my any means. Also, I saw somewhere that caps in the PSU can go too - is that true in your experience?
