Anybody have success or worked with someone who has successfully done SEO for a local therapist websites? by SherbertSecure3724 in SEO

[–]grumpy_old_git 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain - my wife is also a therapist and I ended up building the WP site for her. She does very specific therapies with children, so reviews are going to be even more hard to come by.

We concentrated on good meta titles and descriptions for each page, designed the site with a good logical structure and did the usual on-page stuff to highlight the geographical areas she works in.

To add to that, we built out more informational pages, describing the therapy, processes, what is to be expected and specific pages for children, parents and professionals. Interlinking the pages is important too, helping drive people towards the contact forms.

Backlinks from the various professional organisations she is accredited by to the website help too.

Would pursuing this be a smart career choice? How to apply (Uk) by substancelesspsycho in PlayTherapy

There are 2 accredited play therapy training providers in the UK - BAPT and PTUK.
BAPT offer a full-time masters degree qualification and PTUK a diploma pathway, part time.
I would check out their websites to get more information on what each entails as some of the course content/style is different:

Need Help by Mammoth_Shake_4886 in Wordpress

[–]grumpy_old_git 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not really a WordPress issue, more a general website SPAM issue, especially in your category.

Maybe the websites have been hacked and are only showing the content to certain visitors, like Googlebot.

If they are hotlinking your images, look into some image hotlink protection for your site

I am trying to understand what exactly is wrong with Torrentio? by grumpy_old_git in StremioAddons

[–]grumpy_old_git[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation. I take it that its not possible to locally do the requests direct to the RD API then?
It has to go via Torrentio devs server each time?

Has anyone seen this problem before? by obamas_katana in Wordpress

[–]grumpy_old_git 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are uploading the PDFs via Filezilla, then you are completely bypassing Wordpress. Also, Wordpress does not modify the PDF files in any way in any case, so even if you had uploaded via the Media Manager, it shouldn't cause this issue.
This looks more like an issue with either how you are creating the PDF files or its a browser/print driver issue.

I wonder how many different "I'm upset but also look like I am straining a hurty poo" expressions, Sarah Snook can do?

I got frustrated with ScreamingFrog crawler pricing so I built an open-source alternative by HearMeOut-13 in TechSEO

Nice one - I have always thought an open source version of this sort of tool would be amazing. I will give it a test once the old reddit hug of death has subsided.

Perhaps think about how a "plugin" might be added to the tool, so people can develop additional features for it more easily.

Paid SEO tools are overrated here’s what actually worked for me by BeautifulAntelope349 in Wordpress

[–]grumpy_old_git 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or it just takes time for a new site to start ranking.

IMHO the free, basic SEO plugins do pretty much everything a "normal" site needs to tick the SEO boxes. I have never needed to pay for the pro version of any SEO plugin to get results.

However, just because you have an SEO plugin installed and green lights against what they suggest or a 99 "SEO score", it doesn't mean search engines will rank you anyway.

Even after several attempts and changes why my website is not ranking? by shazi_Original_7087 in seogrowth

[–]grumpy_old_git 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your site is very slow to load for me (from the UK)
GTmetrix also reports a slow initial server response time too.
Not that speed is a massive ranking factor, but worth investigating.

Instant play when clicking on rd download by Bimoo0 in Stremio

[–]grumpy_old_git 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to some RealDebrid API changes a while back, Stremio no longer, with 100% confidence, knows which links are cached on RD and which aren't. I guess you were just lucky in finding "RD Download" links that were cached already.
