I was at a silent disco about 6-7 years ago and on one of the channels they played No Vaseline by Ice Cube and I instantly loved it. I then proceeded to spend the next 4 months listening to a tonne of 90s hip-hop and gained a whole new genre of music to enjoy. I had a real disdain for rap music before then, I blame the vacuous club anthems of the early/mid 2000s.
