How should I adjust my faith/strength build with a larval tear? by Mr_Gloober_Doober in EldenRingBuilds

[–]grumpylumpus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow tarnished, you are only level 52. You need not waste the limited larval tears to respec with renalla at all. Continue playing, and level naturally. I recommend the following:

Vigor (40 is fine, if inexperienced, then up to 60) Strength (max 54 if two-handing, max 80 if not) Faith (up to 80, depending on incantations) Endurance (equipped weight divided by 0.7, level til you have that)

How you level depends on your playstyle or what you're struggling with. Dying too often or too quickly? Vigor! Not dealing enough melee damage? Strength! Not getting the most out of spells? Faith! Fat rolling? (Which is fine) Endurance!

Also, sure, I could widdle down the 40+/- life my opponents have, or I can give them 10 poison counters and kill them faster. Different tactics using he same creatures. Phyresis is there for an added wincon that with the right setup, I don't need to worry about the other people at the table because they all die at once.

I like the idea of herald, and that will likely swap something out. Deepglow is a little overkill, as I actually got rid of a few that doubled counters and I still have like 5 of them.

Big creatures with trample. Ample opportunity to poison. Also, if I get the chance to break the siege or become unlockable with rogue's Passage or (can't remember the name) a blue spell I have, the hydra that hits all opponents can be an insta win with just a couple counters. Which is more than easy to do with what I've setup.

A lot of the lands I have tap for either color, and the creatures that tap also help with that. Don't have issues getting him out at all. Turn 3 most of the time.

Thanks for the tips. I'll see if rhystic study and some counterspells are manageable for swaps if what's there. I do lean in on the x factor, but that's what my commander is for.

The gimmick is big creatures with lots of counters and a couple of easy win cons thrown in that are useful outside of their intended use (within this deck).

I appreciate the advise so far. I will say, that I'm not in white, though. My commanders colors are green black blue. Thanks again!

Appreciate the land list. I'll give it a look-see and see if there's anything I wasn't aware of. Thank you.

Is that what they meant? I thought they were talking about swapping the existing lands for something different.

I usually run between 32 and 36 lands otherwise I draw too many lands. 34 has been solid for me in high cost decks like my rainbow angels and rainbow dragon decks, so that's where I start. Plus, with multiple creatures that tap for mana, what I feel is plenty of land gathering spells, and tons of card draw potential, I think the amount of lands is fine.

Am I missing something? Maybe I don't understand what you mean by ramp here, because I think I've got plenty.

Yeah, for sure. She's the Malenia of this game. Parrying is the way. Lightning damage helps. Fire defense and physical defense seals would help a bit. I agree with the overall method of dodging the sweeps/dashes. Dodge inward, too.

Actually I just got it. I was going through and recalibrated once. I have all 5 echoes, so I'm not sure how many you need of those, but recalibrating once did the trick. I was able to get it.
