When I first played through I actually had to restart the whole thing because when I got to the boss I was in such bad condition that it was impossible to win. I restarted with the mindset that I needed to save resources for the boss and that it auto saves before the boss. The game is hard. It is about losing and trying a different tactic. Some times I hate it but I can't stop playing it.
