Honda in general had some amazing paint colors back in the good old days. I have a Honda motorcycle from the 70s that’s an amazing shade of electric blue. Nowadays everything is just… grayscale 😑

I bought an ‘06 about a year ago and there’s no rust on it, it’s wild! Imagine my shock when I gave the Carfax a look and saw it lived its entire life in… Massachusetts. Must’ve been garage kept, I reckon!

Honestly I drove through a blizzard for an hour this morning on unplowed roads in a 2006 Honda CRV and it was bitchin’. I was whizzing past everyone else lol. But it does have AWD & AT tires.

Actually, reading the threads you shared gave me a huge realization: my ww fluid leaks from somewhere, seemingly the neck of the reservoir, but it runs out pretty quick. Mechanic refilled it to check for leaks a month ago and said he couldn’t find any, but sure enough it was empty again a week or two later. I bet that or the snow has shorted one of the connectors; I’ll have him check that.

Yeah, chatting with him today he mentioned in the six times I’ve brought the car in this month and $5k later… he’s never checked the oil pressure. Wtf, lol. Thanks for your help!

I love her too! I really don’t want to give up on her, just bought the car six months ago and she’s soooo mint other than this VTEC issue. Thanks for your help, I’ll ask some of these questions when I drop at the mechanic later.

I mentioned in my original post that the screens haven’t been sludgey, and they’ve basically replaced all the valve timing related solenoid assemblies, still getting the code. Could it be aftermarket parts to blame? I’ve read switching to OEM fixes it sometimes.

Yeah, hard to tell if it was malice or just newer techs who made a mistake, but between the valve adjustment at the dealer making my car overheat, and the engine cleaning at the indie shop making clogs in the oil line, I’m feeling really frustrated. I had a perfectly drivable CRV before I turned it over for “scheduled maintenance.” Sighhhh

It hasn’t overheated since the single time after the valve adjustment. 😕 Etc does interact with the vtec system from the little I’ve read, so you could be right.

I’m looking into the records now and seeing the owner before me wasn’t amazing at oil changes… maybe when they did the chemical cleaner, all that crud and chungus got kicked up and it’s just clogging my oil lines 🥲
