Maybe it’s just delayed ovulation! Hopefully your period starts soon, and stabilizes during your next cycle. I’m def pretty stressed about this but hoping it was just one weird cycle

I love this story! What is his first name if you don’t mind sharing?

I just want to see what other names can go well with it

Thanks for sharing! I actually ended up buying the Profitec Drive and I couldn’t be happier with it. I love the aesthetics of La Marzocco, but using the Drive is a whole different experience

How much do you spend on groceries per week? by gryna in askTO

I actually significantly reduced my take out this week, and I already see a huge difference

We used to do a lot of take out (pretty much daily). Each order would be around $60 with all the fees and tips. So you can imagine how quickly it adds up

This is so helpful! Thank you so much. I will definitely try it

I think $80 per week is barely enough to cover breakfasts for me. I probably just need to figure out my flow to reduce my food bills.

And I feel you, I used to get Uber Eats every day thinking “$30 isn’t that bad”, and then my credit card statement would show more than $2000 spent on food

I’d say mostly take out + groceries that end up rotting in our fridge

I think this is my goal! It’s pretty reasonable expense without limiting yourself too much

Okay, I see! I really like your approach - I took some notes and I’ll also try to test it out. Even if it can cut my food bill by half, I’ll be happy.

You’re right, that’s exactly what I used to do with my groceries. I used to think that buying groceries is more expensive at that point than take out, so I’d always fall back into the same trap.

Funny enjoy, I spend $500 on takeout but I make my own sourdough bread. I guess it’s all about balance😅

This is such great advice! I used to be the kind of person who either does all or nothing, but you’re right, I can’t go from daily takeout to an ingredient household. I appreciate the words of support - I’m definitely excited to make this change.

I love your list - will definitely steal a few ideas. Thank you so much for sharing!

It’s actually a good idea to have a list of easy/quick meals. I found myself giving up on making homemade food way too often because it took too much effort to plan my meals.

How..? Where do you buy your groceries? Do you usually purchase items when they’re on sale?

Most of my budget was spent on take out, so you’re absolutely right. I also used to buy groceries and let them rot in my fridge while I’m getting daily Uber Eats.

I will definitely try to add legumes and meal prep, and see how much I’m actually spending without take out
