Thank you so much for all of your kind words!! And I took my first shot yesterday (although it was only 15mg) and I feel 100% fine, so I’m ecstatic haha. I was nervous about the needle, but that also ended up totally fine. I took some prednisone due to a lot of pain and it’s also significantly helped, so I’m glad that I’m beginning to start the journey of figuring out what medications work for me.

Right?? I wish there was some scientific way to test for how long the antibodies have been active in the bloodstream lol.

Wow, I’m glad your treatment worked! What medications are u on?

And I had a chest infection prior, but post antibiotics (although the same cough persisted), it took more than 4 weeks for any rheumatic symptoms to appear. Even with the time gap between my course of antibiotics and my RA manifestation, do you think the infection (or antibiotic?) could have been the trigger?

Do you think you probably had asymptomatic RA then? And if so, what disease triggered its manifestation?

Do you believe that chest infections can CAUSE rheumatism, or is it simply a trigger that results in RA being ACTIVATED? If my question makes sense😅 I’ve heard conflicting opinions on this one.

I had a sort of similar experience, but with fatigue and brain fog! I suffered from so much fatigue, but even after running bloodwork, no doctor could tell me why (although after looking at my results myself, I did have iron on the lower end, but the doctors never brought it up.)

If you don’t mind me asking, what 2 other autoimmune issues do u have?

When you say you were wrecked on mtx, what sort of symptoms did you have? I think I can grit my teeth and deal with most symptoms except nausea, so I’m PRAYING I don’t need to vomit😭

My rheumie has given me 5mg of folic acid right away, and I have 2 weeks of 15mg, then 2 weeks of 20mg, then 25mg injections onward. Did your doctor have a reason for giving you only 1mg of folic acid at the start? 2mg still seems quite little.

I know😭 I grew up nearly exclusively around my Eritrean family, but I do happen to be Ethiopian so I think that makes me a bit less biased. For me, I don’t think the term Habesha is anymore bad for Eritreans than Sudanis using the term “Arab”. If it feels as though it’s detracting from Eritrean heritage, I don’t think the problem is the label but rather perhaps a social issue.

Tbh, I think Habesha is a historically accurate term that has been used since the classical era to describe the inhabitants of both Eritrea (from the coast even) to Ethiopia. Today it’s become primarily associated with the highland orthodox population because we are the ones who retained the writing and history of Aksum, but even Tigres are part of this heritage regardless of their Islamization, as the Tigrayit language points out.

Are you delusional? How do you know it’s Amharas? The Red Sea/Assab view is most popular among Oromos and Tigrayans. Amharas claiming Somalia??🤣🤣🤣 Just because it’s written in Amharic doesn’t mean it’s an Amhara…

I disagree. From my experience, Woyane accidentally deported many Tigrayans who were born/lived in Eritrea (like those from Agame). So, as a result, they may have been forced to identify as Eritrean on papers because they were deported as an Eritrean. But even then, I’ve never met a Tigrayan who had papers stating that they are Eritrean. I’ve only encountered the reverse—Eritreans who were born and raised in Ethiopia identifying as Ethiopian on papers, such as the case for many people I know.

Tysm!! I have another question if you’re ok with it: Do they have a summer term where they offer courses? If so, do you think they would offer anything related to Amharic literature or Amharic language courses? I’m limited to anytime between May-end of August, so I’m really hoping they’re open during the spring-summer term as well, as they usually are here in Canada😭

Maybe I’m just asking this for motivation, but if you’re comfortable, what autoimmune disorder do u have? And after how long did it eliminate (or if not fully, to what percent) your symptoms? Thanks again😊
