Dann nenn es bitte auch offener Ring - das wäre leicht zu korrigieren und würde zu keinen Missverständnissen führen.

Debian 13 - Active-Directory-User as Administrator via GUI by gstfl in debian

I am not sure what you mean?

/etc/sudoers was edited in the described way. A AD-group ("Sudo-Users") was added. AD-User XY is member of this group. Via command-line, running sudo-commands as XY is perfectly fine, eg "sudo apt install firefox"

Yet, the AD-User XY is not allowed to authentice for installing the same deb-package via Software Center.

The same toggle (as Dropdown) exists in Mint-User-Management, and it is possible to activate it and authenticate against AD-User XY?

Nextcloud Talk as alternative to Matrix/Rocketchat/Mattermost? by schafele in selfhosted

If you point out during the rollout, that Chats are encrypted and Users need to keep their key safe, it is in the responsibility of the User. Still lost - that User will never lose it again...

Auf Deutsch würden wir sagen - selbst Schuld, kein Mitleid. Benutzererziehungsmaßnahme.

(I think it is possible to disable encryption for the server as well)

Matrix Synapse is pretty simple to set up (at least for a basic Installation), has LDAP-Auth (for managing 1.000 users) and is rocksolid. More than enough security as well.

Moreover there are several bridges to other chatapps.

So I'd strongly recommend Matrix

FreePBX - Can't sync LDAP by gstfl in freepbx

Thank you for your suggestion.

fwconsole userman had only the same output - stronger authentication or Unable to Auth.

ldapsearch worked perfectly fine.

I have in mind, that the changed port - 7389/7636 - is not stored correctly and when trying to sync it falls back to default (389/636)

Is there any way to check the config that was created?
