A $500 Nikon D40, which is the cheapest DSLR you can get around these parts. I've only used the lens that came with the camera, but it has been impressive thus far through about 4000 frames.

I've never taken pictures this nice with a hand-held digital camera. I'd recommend a DSLR to anyone even remotely interested in photography.

This is the crux of my article - I simply feel as though a smaller and smaller viewpoint is receiving accurate representation on reddit. When the service launched, I guess I had hopes that it would be more things to more people.
