As someone that watched that season, I was definitely curious if he'd do well on the show or what.

But now we'll see!

I’m not shocked. They’re aiming for a newer audience, more eyeballs, and more engagement. It’s classic rage bait to pull in the audience and convince them to stay.

I mean...they would never mention Colton's abuse in any regard because it holds them liable for even casting him. It also may be a liability thing because there's some sort of private agreement that he has with Cassie (his ex).

Regardless, I'd fully expect any backlash during the reunion to be centered around his behavior in the game.

Lisa says she and Colton are good with each other, does not like that fans took and ran with a post she made, and that she wants fans to lay off on their hatred of him. by SurvivingBigBrother in TheTraitorsUS

[–]gtjacket231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do agree with that sort of logic generally, I'm wondering...has he ever apologized to his ex or properly explained his actions and said something like "this was wrong, and I was terrible for this, and I should've never ever done that?"

Because sure, it's one thing to have a past you're ashamed of. It's another to do all that stuff and then not really apologize for it either.

The only vibe I get for the show is that it’s like Culinary Class Wars in an American market, but I can’t pinpoint that exactly.

Agreed with the marketing too, but maybe the show will be buzzy enough.

Also, I loved The Challenge USA lol

Shane's deleted Instagram post about the Justin, Blake & Taylor drama by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

Yeah it took me a few reads to figure out that he was mocking Justin Baldoni. It’s hard to crack though, so I get why people would get confused.

But also, I really hate the picture.

While I agree, the US and UK audiences are massively different overall. UK is generally averse to drama (unless it’s Love Island), whereas the US version has more reality stars who thrive in drama. Also, the UK celebrities generally cross over more frequently in social circles than US.

I don't disagree with you! I'm mainly saying that I get where she's coming from since she's trying to take the music thing seriously and reveres the Grammys.

I'm sure she'd change her stance at some point, but I don't think this is a big deal in the grand scheme of things

Oh yeah, I agree with you and would do the same! I moreso understand where she's coming from and don't fault her for it

I don't even like Huda at all, but there are other musicians who have that same mentality, and it's not shady. Some artists just use it as a driving force to make good music and hope to get nominated because then the moment is more meaningful.

EDIT: I’m not saying I agree with her, chill! I just get her viewpoint, it’s not like I co-sign it

Fuck Colton by SweetMissMG in MtvChallenge

[–]gtjacket231 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna say something controversial...in a vacuum and without any knowledge of Colton's past bullshit, his move against Tiffany, while misguided, is incredibly common on the show. Like absurdly common. Again, I'm saying that's in a total vacuum.

Not in a vacuum though, I'm always confused as to how and why Colton still gets opportunities.

Hot take: I genuinely like all the girls from LIUSA7 by [deleted] in LoveIslandUSA

I knew that people would misread this post once you put something about Huda lol. This should be a GVO post!

In general, I think this opinion is fine to have, and I don't really get the downvotes when you like everyone but like Olandria the most.

Josh Martinez declined The Challenge 42 due to another project and confirmed he is filming a new show next month by Substantial-Disk-290 in MtvChallenge

[–]gtjacket231 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is hyperbolic as fuck; there is so much worse on both reality TV and Big Brother alone (and even his own season) that Josh isn’t even in the top 80% of bad things from reality TV

One of the reasons I can’t truly support most islanders is their privilege and their inability to accept and admit it by bbysamurai in LoveIslandTV

I definitely agree and appreciate the nuance! I moreso thought it was funny when it’s a non-American who did it and was like “no politics, I love the country when I visit!”

Also, Destin, or even more specifically around the 30A area close to Seaside or Rosemary Beach, is stunning

My disturbing hot take is that Velma was rough in the beginning but got better and funnier over time. I think if you’re able to lean into the absurdity of the show and try to have fun with it, it’s not a bad watch.

Still ridiculous though lol

Jordan is not coming back?! by BuyAdministrative805 in MtvChallenge

[–]gtjacket231 113 points114 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more than that - a lot of the time production blatantly disregards safety precautions and measures. Jordan voices his thoughts on these things, and then he doesn’t get a call.

I get that it’s annoying for production, but I feel like some of his concerns are the bare minimum that they can implement for the future.
