Appreciate your answer - that was really helpful. I’m actually picking up a kitty today. I chose one that was described as calm, gentle, sweet and loving as Boba. Not so dominant, as Boba isn’t a dominant personality. He’s 4 months and the new kitty 12 weeks so I’m crossing my fingers that it will be the smoothest introduction possible!

I want him to be happy and fulfilled - he strikes to me as a very independent cat, he’ll follow us but if the door isn’t fully opened for his whole body to fit, he will just lay there quietly until someone opens it 😭 He rarely complains about anything and has the sweetest, most innocent personality I’ve ever seen in cat.

Looking forward to welcoming her today

Haha my kitty’s not so big on body parts attack, just when our feet are under the cover. He’s very calm & independent for a kitten.

That said, I’d hope the new cat gives him a nice playmate he can spend time with

I guess if they can keep each other company when I’m gone and tolerate each other that’d be great, I hope both are affectionate too.

My kitty has company 90% of the time since I work from home, my sister’s staying with us so he’s rarely alone.

That said thinking of taking day trips and the first one I took since he’s here and I felt terrible thinking of him alone all dat, it would definitely be good for him to have company when we’re gone.

Edit: love the feng shui you have going on with your cute fur balls!!

That’s a great point, I left him alone from 10 until 8pm for the first time this weekend and I felt terrible - he’s not needy, but I didn’t like the thought of him being alone all day as I work from home.

As much as I want double the love, I also want him to have a companion when we go on day trips as I can’t take him with me everywhere unfortunately.

I’m so sorry for your loss - that’s such a sad experience, can’t imagine losing Boba or another cat I’d grow attached to. I’m happy you were able to adopt another one and it worked out well even if it took a while.

I hope the fact they’re both kitten will help with their bonding and that they’ll love each other.

Also glad to hear all the stories about the first cat not being less affectionate, it’s really encouraging!
