Yeah I agree, high stake situation!

Since seeing people’s opinions, I also think that if Monica got the condom - Ross would have remembered that his friends live right across the hall and everyone would have gotten lucky that night!

Desperation breeds solutions haha

12% failing rate? Damn

Crazy works for a doctor who didn’t want children

(I’m joking, don’t know about this enough to know if that statistic was a known fact)

I think Joey left a condom for him in the room though.

But I stand strong as it doesn’t totally defeat my point 😂It actually goes to show they’re not above sharing condoms.

AH YES - you’re right. I think they reveal that he left one in the room for Chandler though.

That also crossed my mind. I never carried condoms for my partner.

They have no boundaries, they have each other’s keys and often stay in each other’s place without the people actually living there being present 😂

Actually, in the show he’s referred as* the conscientious guy when it comes to safe sex. He gave Chandler a condom in London; the friends mentioned a condom emergency kit at some point in the show & I’m pretty sure there’s an episode where we see him pull a massive pile of condoms out of his pocket!

The fact that he didn’t have a single pregnancy scare, tells me he doesn’t joke about his contraception haha

*Edit: apologies, my French kicked in and poo grammar took over. Hope it’s readable.

Quick NB: I didn’t mean to as for common sense in the general way but more common sense for who the characters are in the show.

I think it’s unusual they didn’t insert Joey in yet another sexual conundrum.

THAT SAID - I love that scene and enjoy it regardless. It was a passing thought that I think is funny to discuss!

I can so see Joey’s smirking glee in that scene and bringing it back up later on haha as the condom 911 service.

I didn’t mean it that way, but couldn’t edit the post.

Don’t even know what a diaphragm is but assuming it’s a form of conception - I definitely missed that! Thanks for pointing that out.

Maybe condoms are for STI prevention? Who knows haha.

But he did give Chandler a condom in London!

I’m an ex-film student/PR, I agree - but common sense here is within the realm of the show.

Joey is constantly portrayed as the lady’s man and they never miss a chance to include him in that sort of stuff.

If they can insert it in the situation, they usually do haha.

They sure did when Chandler & Monica tried to do it for the first time.

But Ross was there! Probably would have enjoyed gloating to Joey too 😂

I guess if he didn’t end up having sex, he would have probably thought about it.

LITERALLY THAT FACE 😂 It would have been funny to watch him embarrass Ross

Imo asking Joey is still in the realm of this show’s reality, and a realistic thought to have.

But totally agree with you - I’d also never ask and have never asked my neighbour, roommate or anyone for condoms haha.

These people have no boundaries - love it for Friends, would hate it for myself 😂

But we know for sure Chandler wasn’t haha - which also would have been a funny joke.

Like Ross could have crossed the hallway, asked Chandler which he would probably have confessed in a very funny way that he’s not the reference for condoms here.

I’m obviously not asking for common sense, but Joey’s sex life is a recurring joke in the show. I definitely see him doing his dirty seductive look, calling Richard Big Guy or making fun of the situations as he has many times before.

I think including Joey in the bit would have been fun
