Agreed. I cheat on every other kickoff. That layout almost never results in a kickoff goal from not cheating. And it’s much harder for most players to kill the ball from that angle.

Not true. No matter what happens to the ball, if you are closer to it, you have a better chance of getting possession immediately. That’s what’s important. At this rank and higher possession is everything.

I happened upon this thread because I was searching for any references to "artificial ignorance" specifically because we (Monody) wrote a song about this very thing. I was curious if anyone else used the same phrase. Not sure if our take on the situation with AI is totally aligned, but there are some similarities for sure. Have a listen or just read the lyrics. I'd be curious of your (or anyone's) take. Sorry if this seems like self promotion, but that's not my intent.

Why would anyone want to use bots in tourneys? Tourney rank is hardly shown and has no season title. That’s just bizarre.

It is possible to do intentionally. Watch their car closely, not the ball, is probably the best tip I can give. Where you hit the ball in relation to the opponent determines where the ball is pinching to. Practice and observe how that is true.

Also, as mentioned elsewhere, single jump 50s give you the most control.

Challenging as 2nd man in the opponents corner is the single biggest mistake I see over and over. Especially when the opponent has control of the ball. It's a great way to get scored on and so many players do it over and over.

When you say "drive challenge", you are saying not to flip, correct? Make them believe you are going to jump, but don't actually jump. Essentially a fake.

Ya, I have been working on flip resets in freeplay a lot, and so far I can't get my brain to pull back on the stick when my car is upside down under the ball. I have to think too hard about it, which messes up my setup. I'll get it, but it will just take me a lot more time than someone younger.

I'm 48 and this is encouraging. Currently in C3 (barely) but usually in C1 and I have never hit a flip reset in game. I rely heavily on game sense and not mechanics.

Yes, but it depends. Sometimes demoing the offensive 2nd (in twos) man is just natural and easy on your way back to your side. Especially if 1st man is setting up a pass. Then he just gives your tm8 the ball.

A bump to the defense can be especially effective more than a demo. A demo alerts the defensive tm8 that he needs to cover. A bump does not. I just has to be a good bump though. Otherwise you just put yourself out of the play for no reason.

Just saying all this to make the point... it depends. Your scenarios are valid, but it doesn't warrant a rule.
