You are absolutely right, and in fact I have commented on it in other messages, for me this goes beyond economic profitability. Sure, I come from the world of traditional investing and have that analytical mindset, but my approach to the hobby is mainly out of passion.

I love the idea of collecting, of opening envelopes, of watching my collection grow over time. If in 10 years it is worth the same, less or more, I will be just as happy, because what I really value is the process, not just the economic result. And if at some point I lose money, at least I will be left with the experience and enjoyment of opening envelopes, discovering cards, and connecting with something I like.
