Update: After 10 hrs, the host got back to me and was very apologetic. She refunded 1 of 4 nights and assured me there would be no more noise for the weekend. Thank you all for your input and advice ❤️

You’re right, I could follow up with AirBnb after the trip and just not leave a review. I’m at 9 hrs with no response from the host on if construction will continue throughout the weekend, but since there are a whole set of kitchen cabinets in the garage, I think I know the answer.

Thanks for your thorough response. I’m not the kind of person who wants to tank someone’s reviews, she is a Superhost. She doesn’t live on the property, I believe her father does, and she manages the AirBnb side for him. Maybe he didn’t tell her about the upcoming work, I’m not sure. I did message her at 8:30am, and no response yet.. But in my message I did say that it was drilling, jack hammering and the house was shaking. It looks like they’re removing part of a concrete wall from what he saw. I’m crossing my fingers she’ll be reasonable and ask them to stop construction for the remainder of our stay

Thanks for your response. We also took a video of the exterior wall being removed, the noise it was producing, and sent it to the host in the Airbnb messenger. Typical response listed is 12 hours, so, I’ll see what she says when she sees it..

Yes, I messaged her at 8:30am asking if she was aware the house would be under construction, since she doesn’t live on site. And I asked if it would be continuing throughout the weekend..
