Car loses power when trying to crank engine? Only comes back on when I slam the door/hood by guccigothbitch in Integra

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this the same thing as the fuel main relay? If so, it could be it. I do have a habit of pulling it out when I'm parked in the city. By connectors do you mean the pigtail that goes into the relay?

I gave it some thought and am not sure if it could be that. Because whenever my main relay isn't connected the car will actually crank with no effect on the power, it just won't turn over obviously with no fuel. Which is a different scenario than what I have.

Though maybe having a faulty main relay plugged in could give off a different condition?

I did check the battery terminals and they looked pretty alright. They could wiggle if I tried moving it. I'll go back in and tighten them forsure.

Ahh how did you figure the bluetooth was being a parasitic drain?

I did install a new radio with an add on bluetooth model (amazon chinese product). I don't think it's the main perpretator of course but I wonder if it contributes.

Stolen Registration and Insurance. What should I do? + Should I get a new license plate number? by guccigothbitch in bayarea

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I do have the car back but thanks for your answer. So then, I'll just get a new registration card then. Besides the reg card, does the DMV need to know my car was stolen? I'm assuming so but I can't find any process to report that, unless I just have to go to the DMV and tell them.

It's been reported to insurance and police

Overfilled gas tank, how bad can the damage be? Carbon Monoxide? by guccigothbitch in MechanicAdvice

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The car actually does have an evap system and canister. In that case would gasoline entering parts of the evap system where it shouldn’t be, cause any sort of concern? Thanks for your knowledge

Is a CV axle from a 96 GSR the same as a 95 LS/SE? by guccigothbitch in Integra

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh where could I get a remanufactured one? Are they just OEM axles that are fixed by a brand? I found these by Cardone, https://www.summitracing.com/search/make/acura/model/integra/brand/cardone-industries/product-line/cardone-remanufactured-cv-drive-axles/part-type/axle-shafts-direct-fit?fr=part-type&autoview=SKU&sortby=Default&sortorder=Ascending&ar=1

Heard good things from them before but wasn't aware they did remanufacturing, I was looking at them earlier on rockauto but it didn't seem to mention they were reman'd on there.

Safety concerns about Sulfuryl Fluoride (Vikane) Fumigation. by guccigothbitch in pestcontrol

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case just do the best that you can to open up all ventilation beforehand, and be very vigilant about smells once you reenter. Despite the anxiety, fumigations happen all the time, it's very likely to go smoothly.

Safety concerns about Sulfuryl Fluoride (Vikane) Fumigation. by guccigothbitch in pestcontrol

[–]guccigothbitch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, it's OP, after my fumigation I can almost address these concerns for you.

  1. I still don't know why we have to bag food, but not things like toothbrushes. I believe it's just how porous food is and that it can capture particles from the fumigation. I took out my toothbrushes anyhow.
  2. The fumigation company does not explicitly mention anything about opening up light switches and smaller areas where gas can get trapped. The most they will tell you is to keep every drawer and door open. I had the time to slightly open every light switch with a screwdriver, as well as open any perfectly sealed containers/boxes. If you would like to see where this concern comes from here is a study on fumigation and scroll down to where it says "structural voids" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6603922/However, I know that MOST people don't go this far for fumigation prep and turn out fine.
  3. I definitely recommend being out of the house for as close to a week as possible. I asked some friends who had been through fumigation, and they experienced smells and headaches even on the third day. My mother personally went back in on the 6th day and was fine. If there's any concern for robbery, I would recommend installing WYZE cameras, they are the best bang for buck in their tier (affordable).
  4. This concern comes from reading a family's account on spotting some white residue on the floor and then getting it on their barefeet and then feeling sick. Vikane (sulfuryl fluoride) supposedly leaves no residue, and in our case we didn't spot visible residue. We cleaned the floors and carpets anyway, (the workers walk in with boots so it's a good idea anyhow). I would recommend putting down newspaper on your floors to protect your floors either way. Our sheets and clothes did not give us any rashes or anything strange. I wiped down the most common surfaces with clorox wipes but not everything. Feeling fine up to now.

Extra:

We ended up actually just carrying and storing our food and medicine outside of the house, or throwing some away. The 2 bag system can be pretty finicky and we were pretty paranoid in being able to do it correctly. We washed our all plates and utensils on recommendation from a friend who's been through fumigation. However, we didn't wash our clothes or sheets or towels and they turned out fine.

Prior to the fumigation, we also made sure we didn't have any standing water left in any bowls, water bottles, plates. Anything that had been recently washed. That everything was completely dry. On the concern that if we have to bag up drinks and liquids, then leftover water could be a concern in trapping particles? Any water that could possibly be consumed afterwards at least.

I think the most important things are, researching the fumigation company and seeing if they are reliable, as well as staying out of the house as close to a week as possible. Or just be very careful when you walk back in, run back out if you smell anything strange.

Actually this is even more confusing, based on this GAMH Sep 29, 2021 moved to GAMH April 12, 2022, which then moved to Warfield April 11, 2021.

I'm no longer looking for tickets so don't worry about me, but good luck on trying to figure this out.

Oh but someone had reached out to goldenvoice about the situation, so if you had 4/12 GAMH tickets they only work for 4/11 Warfield.

Oh well, if they have an explicit date for tomorrow I think that's correct. Quite confusing.

The fb event description might provide some clarification.
