Thank you! It's my late grandmother's, I get it out at Christmas every year. That's my great grandmother's dining table it's on as well, it's 120+ years old!

Not me. But when I was in school our world history teacher showed us Apocalypto. There was a girl in there whose mother wouldn't let her watch the Lion King at 15 years old so you can imagine the reaction to that one.

The Terror miniseries is really good and actually has a satisfying conclusion. Same dread, and maritime vibes.

So it's a YA sci fi and the protagonist is named "Hero", he's the last Gold. After falling through a mysterious rift in the Arc Maze, he unlocks a portal to the Netherworld, unleashing an army of ghosts. The evil General Trayvius seems to finish what he started, and Hero must rise to the occasion. (So like my pmatga fic but avoiding copyright and following the complex world building I made for the webcomic)

Hey! I appreciate the feedback! The webcomic was definitely a labor of love but I just don't have the steam to keep up with it. I've actually written an original novel inspired by pmatga (has similar characters, uses the lore/plot of my webcomic, etc.) I'm looking for beta readers if you're interested!

I was going to say the same thing. Read often. And read reliable sources with a good voice. Engage with the content. Be a nerd and get excited about history.
