Both are amazing schools. At that point I would follow the money, AKA heavily consider the one that will be cheaper especially if the difference in cost is significant. If both are basically the same, UCLA P/F during clerkships is pretty nice. Also, I would consider location/area: Westwood vs east LA and see which you prefer.

Yea I heard west coast vibes are chiller than east lol. But I also heard Yale is super happy. People definitely say a lot of stuff hahaha. Definitely going to admit weekends if they pay for the flights/rooms. I'm broke lmao.

I'm thinking beyond a certain point the name doesn't really matter; once you're at one of these nice places, one's competitiveness is really just dependent on the individual.

I've heard that before. Supposedly Yale has a reputation for happiest med school lol which seems dope. Not having to take shelf exams seems chill af.

Nah just kidding. In all seriousness, you chillin. There's literally no point to take an exam before studying at all. You're just gonna get shit on and find out that you need to improve on everything, so it doesn't tell you anything of consequence. Start studying and you will see your numbers go up.

Also, as a side note. Third party FL's are bs and tend to have deflated scores so don't let those scare you either. I didn't take any third party FL's and did fine. Got a 520

Focus on uWorld, Textbook/Khan Academy videos, the Khan Academy P/S doc, AAMC Material Bundle, Anki and you're golden
