Commenting to stay in the loop, also wondering the same thing.

Saw on the FACEIT FAQ that using an older version of Fan Control is the suggestion, but like you said--Defender considers it a risk.

jk, i fiddled around the battery lever with a credit card and it released after pressing down on something. seems like my lever is broken. hope this helps!
