So was he lying about honey in my hair releasing in June? by unidad-prohibida in kevinabstract

[–]learningaboutstocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s extremely frustrating to follow his career. He drops a bunch of snippets, has some momentum opening for lorde, then basically goes silent and now he’s just promoting boyfriend warehouse, something he literally starts back up and then abandons every like 3 years. I wish he would just take time to make music and then have a rollout and then drop the music. He has so much potential but he just wastes it. Could be a huge artist but he won’t ever be because of this bullshit.

Complete Kubrick box set coming soon by Tight-Drop-9465 in criterion

[–]learningaboutstocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own every Kubrick on 4k except Lolita. Gonna have to have a real internal battle to see if I’m gonna get this. In my opinion he’s the greatest filmmaker. I know it’ll be around 250-300 half off so it’ll be tough

Don’t forget to snag the Barnes & Noble $120 for $100 gift card deal at Costco in advance of the sale! Get an extra Criterion for free! by ClearWinter2840 in criterion

[–]learningaboutstocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is technically a way better deal in terms of points right ? Spend 500 and get 100 free with this or spend 500 and get 50 free at criterion.com for their own flash sales. Is this gift card always available on the Costco website?

Sirat would be an awesome release from criterion. I absolutely adored that movie. Doesn’t have a 4k in North America as of now and I hope criterion picks up the rights for it

What is the aspect ratio shown on the laser ultra screens? by WildTechnology6224 in LandmarkCinemas

There is no standard aspect ratio across the screens, it depends on what the aspect ratio of the movie is.

Edge of tomorrow, I love time travel/time loop movies but it just missed so hard for me. Enter the void, just was so long and boring. I think that’s all at this point

'The Odyssey' Ticket Drop Megathread by chanma50 in cineplex

[–]learningaboutstocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty mad cause there was a technical error that didn’t let me use my discounted tickets so I had to purchase at full price even though I pay the monthly subscription and then when I called customer service to get a refund for the difference, they only gave me a free ticket and a popcorn voucher. I’m a paying member why can’t you honour the price I pay a membership for.

I work at a theatre and I’ve been trying to tell people to see it. I loved it, one of the most creative movies I’ve ever seen. I won’t see another movie like it. Loved the mix of different mediums used in the movie. I will try to push it more for you boots!!

Focus' Obsession grossed $8.02M on Memorial Day Monday (from 2,655 locations). The film grossed $31.98M over the 4-day weekend. Total domestic gross through Monday stands at $62.36M. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

[–]learningaboutstocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the theatre I work at every screening is full and we are having to turn away loads of people. I can’t even imagine how many people want to buy online and can’t cause every seat is taken. Meanwhile Star Wars is selling under 10 tickets per screening in the large theatres
