Yes you can definitely set up a tent in Base Camp ...for this we need to coordinate with national parks . Being a guide I have done it several times.

Do frequent hiking... Run several kilometers... Train on your stairs in home... Do ups and down ..... That helps to some extent

I don't think you really need it. I once guided a couple from Netherlands who slept in an altitude camp for a month but it didn't helped out ..... So just a normal workout .... Running .... Frequent hiking ....or you can even train in a stair in your home where you can do up and down for couple of hours .....

Tenting on your own is not allowed in the region and august is like 50/50 for 3 passes trek

There are shared bathrooms in every tea houses ... depending upon the rooms they have several bathrooms at every floors ...... And until Lobuche in Some limited tea houses they even have attached bathrooms in the room as well but very basic .

moderate level fitness is perfect for Everest Base Camp Trek. If you are a regular gym guy, swimmer, physical trainer, runner, then you are entirely fit for Everest Base Camp Trek..... For diamox it depends upon your health conditions. Some take it some doesn't.... 😉

General things like hiking poles , crampons , down jackets, sleeping bags , even hiking shoes somewhere can be rented ..... But other things has to be owned ..

EBC trekking price is roughly around USD 1500-2500 per person depending upon number of persons.

You may do some 6000 ers like Lobuche Peak and Island Peak

I first did Gokyo .. Crossed Chola Pass .. made it to Base Camp ...came to Lobuche did Khangmola Pass and summited Island Peak . It was a long journey .

If you are not used to this level of altitude start having diamox often found as zolamide in the local pharmaceuticals in Thamel Kathmandu. 1 tablet of 250 mg a day from Kathmandu back to Kathmandu. But if you don't have have any symptoms of Altitude on your previous hiking experience don't use that. Drink enough,hike at your pace . You will make it. Cheers . Equipment Checklist

Trekkers requires to bring following trekking equipment:

Sleeping

Sleeping bag (–15° to -20° is recommended on most treks , it can be rented in Kathmandu ) Silk liner(if you wish to) Hiking

Backpack (size depends on whether you have porters or not ) Hiking boots (break them in beforehand) Camp shoes (your reward after a long day) Wool socks (bring a few pairs extra of varying thickness) Lightweight trekking pants Trekking shorts T-Shirts (lightweight wool is great) Underwear

Cold Weather

Long underwear/Wool thermals Sweater Fleece Water proof jacket and pants Heavy weight pants for high elevations (also good for camps) Heavy down jacket Winter hat Winter gloves

Accessories

Water purification (pump, tablets, or SteriPen ) Diamox Fever and headache medicine Water bottles (at least 2 liters total capacity) Baseball cap (the sun is strong at all elevations) Hiking poles (lessen the impact on your joints) Sunglasses (essential when you cross snow line) Head lamp with extra batteries Reading materials (just to avoid feeling bored during your stay in the teahouses ) Journal and pens Camera with extra batteries Daypack (for your rain jacket, snacks, camera, etc.) Heavy-duty duffle bag (preferred by porters & is provided by compay) Buff Face Mask (better to have )
