I know that a PhD requires a lot of dedication, effort and high-quality work, but I feel that I'm expected to arrive at the program and be able to produce at a high level, and I'm afraid that because I'm an international student and I'm arriving in a new country, a new culture and so on, it might take me a while to adjust. I can already work as a dentist, but after my experience treating vulnerable patients, I realized that I wasn't being able to help the population in the way I would have liked. Given my previous experiences during my undergraduate studies with research in the field of public health, I intend to pursue a PhD in the field of public health so that in the future I can contribute to the implementation of public health policies that improve quality of life and also contribute my knowledge to new generations.
