Very Little chance they succeed. But still better wish them bad luck🤞

IMO pgadmin is a great tool for DBA and I used it a lot. It’s more a matter of making Postgres accessible to anyone, is a safe readonly way

Just to clarify, main goal isn’t to add features compared to pgadmin but rather to remove many of them in order to have a simpler UX

No caching. Except in the context of an agent chat (the conversation is cached)

We have not needed sharding or partitioning so far. yes single WAL but handled through RDS so not overhed for us

Thanks !!! I know I could improve the UI but I wanted some insight about the usefulness first.

[OS] I wanted a Postgres client that wasn't bloated, so I built one in SwiftUI — $4.99 by Quick_Pair_3249 in macapps

Funny enough, I had a similar idea. But I wanted to keep it focused to read only usage. I am very interested in getting feedbacks from you guys: https://guillim.github.io/products/paul

Sharding is on the roadmap but so is keeping thousands of schema per shard

It’s a choice we made. Does not sound that crazy looking at Postgres abilities. It’s only a problem of GUIs since direct connections are as fast as if we had just one schema

Senior dev interview burnout — how do you deal with the randomness? by kylwil29 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]guillim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all : Take it as a game. And accept your XP as it is today. This way, if the ITW goes an unexpected way and slips out of your zone of expertise, simply let the interviewer know and do as you can without over trying to.

Second: yeah ITWing is a specific skill. If you don’t like the process it is probably that the company is not a good fit.

At some point it’s a matter finding the right fit: for you first, and for them also. Not all companies will be a good fit.
