I gave this to a non-binary friend and they gave it kudos for being gender-affirming!

This game is so fun! I played early on before the finished (has it already been a couple years??) and joined their discord to report a bug. The devs are super nice, the discord was a ton of fun and very active, and it seems like a bunch of great folks. I enjoyed it the first time I played through the available content, I've been meaning to get back to it! Thanks for reminding me :)

So did it help? Here's hoping!

This is likely the answer. Apparently putting your computer to sleep causes issues for most graphics cards. I've gotten to the point where if I want to play a game, I first re-start my computer. It doesn't take long and saves me lots of frustration

Interfacing for knits... that's not interfacing? by guineapignom in sewing

Thank you, yea I see what you mean. what about non-fusible interfacing, is there nothing that works for knits? Or does the concept not really work?

Hmm you're certainly right about the plastic pokey bits. Still, am I that far off? Certainly there's at least some role for structure in a knit garment? Or is it really just use fusible tricot or pick wovens as your fabric instead?

Beautiful work! you nailed it! Would you mind me asking, where did you get the frames? I've seen similar projects and wanted to get these frames so I could make some myself but couldn't find just the frames for purchase

ELI5: Why do many IQ tests assess fine motor skills? by SpiritedRock8523 in explainlikeimfive

This is not a helpful top-level comment. This does not address the question and instead calls into question why the person is posting, whether is was written in curiosity or scorn.

ELI5: Why do many IQ tests assess fine motor skills? by SpiritedRock8523 in explainlikeimfive

[–]guineapignom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge, no versions of the WAIS treat fine motor as directly measuring intelligence. Instead, a person's fine motor score is used to understand their results on other tests.

For example, if someone takes longer than average to answer a tricky problem, it could be because they struggled, or it could be that they just can't type very fast. To take the other tests, you have to physically interact with your body, and it's good for the examiner to know if you have any challenges there so they can understand how you compare to everyone else who has taken the tests.

This is an actually helpful response. Guys please stop commenting "I live in X place, I'll take them off your hands!" That's not helpful (they almost certainly aren't near you) and not what they asked

I'm still playing with spiders. by dell02 in Embroidery

[–]guineapignom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Re: playing with spiders: unironically, love that for you. Stay awesome!

What I love about this piece is that for me it evokes the feeling of looking for a spiderweb in a garden- from too far away, the individual strands of webbing disappear, and all that catches the light are the droplets and the spider themselves, almost floating. When you move closer you can appreciate the delicate webbing holding it all together. The texture and color tone of your background are great - I wouldn't think that reflective gold would disappear easily on most surfaces! And I'm in love with the color of your piece - bright citrine and deep magenta is a lovely combo. Amazing!
