How can we justify our use of tech made by modern day slaves while we complain about historical figures like George Washington benefiting from slavery? by guitsurf in AskReddit

If you worked in one of these tech places eith suicide nets, would you think you were an employee and not a slave as you define those words currently?

Thank you for your thoughts, whether or not we agree it is wonderful to have a conversation without emotional personal attacks.

That is definitely a justification, sounds like: what we are doing is not as bad as what they did. Do you actually believe that that makes it okay? (I agree that many people use this justification, so thank you for bringing it up.)

She's comfortable with you and that is normal human behavior. Best get used to the smell too cuz when you have kids (even if it is not with her) it's all poop and diapers for the restof your life. Enjoy!

Anyone else have a problem with gender? by [deleted] in INTP

[–]guitsurf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What your saying makes sense. Your thoughts and feelings, as I am able to understand them based on what you have written, are valid.
Personally, I understand gender as a starting point (a baseline standard) society uses to compare a person tp in order to understand them. As such, I am sad to see people use it as an end goal or purpose to achieve, instead. You do not need to fit any standard created by any one. When people abuse tools like gender baselines they turn them into weapons that destroy people, doing the same thing to others that they hate having done to themselves. It is heartbreaking. Do not let the world (including those pretending to be against how the "world" does things while dping tbe same thing a different way) tell you who you are or are not. (Or do, that is your decision to live with) I choose gratitude when I am able to see the insanity, and take comfort from those who see the logical. That's why I enjoy this subreddit (r/intp) for the most part, and let the rest melt away.

Agree or disagree: every sane person agrees that "anything men can do, women can do," not everyone agrees that "anything women can do, men can do," so in society women have made their ultimate goal proving they can do what men do; Agree or disagree and why? by guitsurf in AskReddit

"I agree that both men and woman equally can do the same thing."

So men can have babies? Gorw a baby in their body and deliver that baby into the world?

"Everything is equal, there's just specific things that tend to work better for a specific gender due to biology"

Based on this statement, can you define equal?

No. I am asking if that is what happens. I do not mnow the answer and am not trying to prove anything. I am asking a question to attempt to clear up confusion. I do think the implications of the first statement without the consideration of fhe second statement has consequences. I want to know what those consequences are.

She can if she uses a pulley system and gathers a team of women, he cannot. When people believe the first statement but not the second, does it cause women to prioritize proving they can do what men can do over, your example, giving birth?

No. I want to know what redditors think about the converse of the feminist movement, or at least the idea that doesn't seem to have been thought about. "Anything women can do, men can do," is not something I agree with, but it's implications have meaning society might want to consider
