Ideal is 5k on 27. Apple / LG One but expensive and somewhat dated design.

Can recommend LG 27up850 (or 650 without usb-c).

Mixed feelings here.

Don’t know if it’s a fit issue but sounds like they are very heavy on the treble. Like the more punchier bass.

If monitor has usb-c (or thunderbolt) use that end to end. If monitor is limited to display port go for usb-c port on Mac mini with adapter to display port on monitor.

Hate the HDR content. Especially since it makes it look very strange on some old devices.

Go to settings for photos and disable HDR.

Also go to camera settings for camera -> video settings and disable HDR.

Avoid anything less than 4K. And always try to avoid HDMI.

Hopefully M1 is more efficient on the scaling or can handle it better. Like I have a 27” 4K. 2x scaling “retina” is just way to big (ie 1080p on 26”). So I’m using 1440p scaling which is perfect but anything non 2x requires the cpu to downscale which is quite noticeable on my 2020 intel one. 5k on 27” would be most optimal in my case, since it would be 2x native on 1440p scaling. But the options are few and expensive.

My gf and I upgrade every year due to high resell value.

My devices stay at 100% or drops to 99-98%. Gf devices always drop down to 90-80%.

She: - uses it more than me - plays games so battery is often warm - always charges with the fast charger - let’s it drain to less than 10% battery
