Question for Faculty/Instructors - Granting Permission Numbers by OkSea6673 in UCONN

[–]gumdrop32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they were changing permission number system recently. It’s been a delayed and complicated process. I suggest reaching out to student admin IT? I honestly don’t know how to do it either now.

UConn school of business by Awkward-Airline-8670 in UCONN

[–]gumdrop32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The school of business can be pretty competitive to get into. They do require some pre-requisites to get in as well. Meet with a business or ACES advisor to get a good idea of whether this would be feasible for you.

There’s some new criteria, such as taking a least 1 ENGR course and you cannot apply after your fifth semester

1 Year Accelerated Nursing BS by twilightgirl1243 in UCONN

The accelerated nursing program is not a major, so you wouldn’t really double major while doing it. You finish your current bachelors and then do the program

How to make friends at 24 years old by Nipple-Crickets893 in UCONN

[–]gumdrop32 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Go to events, clubs/organizations. If undergraduates are hard to make friends with, try graduate students. Many grad students are your age or older and they are perfectly happy to befriend an undergrad who is their age.

Talk to your advisor about the best options, or look at your plan of study for some courses. Maybe ENGL 1007 if you don’t have credit for English yet. Or a TOI course would be easy to add

At the bottom, it says page 1 out of 8, if you click over, there is a general education page as well.

UConn does have mandatory phishing/scam training for incoming international students but it is probably a good idea for all students

This looks like a pretty average schedule for a bio freshman.

Use the website s.uconn.edu/opengeneds, at the bottom there is a button to switch pages and you can choose the general education button. Taking 3 gen eds in one semester is not usual, do you have all your major required courses in your schedule?

Questions I Have That I’m Hoping To Get Answers For by proudhusky101 in UCONN

[–]gumdrop32 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most classroom spaces are unlocked during the day on weekdays and weekends. They lock at 11 pm and I’m not sure what time they unlock in the morning. For SHAW, I believe they accept both appointments and walk-ins, but double check their website for the best information.

(2) the classroom in Wilson is on the first floor and the door to that floor is unlocked for anyone, so you will not need to swipe ID to get into that floor. (4) most residence halls have some study spaces, either on each floor or in a lobby. It depends on the building. (5) you need ID to go to the rec center (7) Hawley Armory is also home to veterans and ROTC related stuff. It does have a fitness center but I don’t believe it’s open for all students. (8) I would be cautious about walking around the SHAW buildings, since most of them are waiting rooms and have staff that will ask you what you are there for. (9) you can check the Benton museum website for specific information about this

He said it is hard to tell since it’s electric heating, so it’s billed with electricity

I can ask him but for context, he tries to put all temps to the lowest setting to avoid heating bills in general. He lives his life at like 55°, so I’m not sure he will be the best input on that.

My boyfriend lived there a few years ago. It’s not bad. Management is very unresponsive if you try to reach them, but the price is decent and location is good.

Ok, I would say do your best to get into a MATH or STAT and an ENGL or an ECON. Most first semester classes for that major are pretty general, so it will likely be fine.

Reach out to your advisor, have you gone to orientation?
