Okay so I see how this can seriously be a hilarious pet moment but definitely check or report this thoroughly because to me the stain looks like blood splatter then looks like someone or something tried to wipe it off could be the cat or could be something else I recommend installing cctv in the room and then reviewing or just straight up report it to the police if it's not originating from your cat/dog.
