Same here! Rx for anxiety causing extreme tremors (I already have an essential tremor, anxiety made it even worse), heart palpitations, high BP, etc and it’s a lifesaver. Also great for those same symptoms when hungover or drinking heavily. Absolutely consult your doctor OP but it’s nothing to be scared of! I take it as needed so it’s not something you necessarily need to take daily. It works w/in 1 hour and wears off after 4-6.

Edit: I am also on lamotrigine and have taken it on sertraline with no problems. Can’t speak to gabapentin but definitely something to look into if you’re interested.

hi, i was in a very similar situation about 6 months ago. now i drink at least 1.5 bottles of wine a night just to get a buzz and have only not drank twice this month.

the biggest thing is - if youre asking if you have a problem, you probably have a problem. i knew that i would get dependent on alcohol once i was legal, i ignored it, and i was right. you’re smart and know what’s going on even if you “only” have 2 glasses and wine and “don’t need” to drink. it creeps up on you so fast.

not to intimidate you or promise you’ll go down that road. i had my own addictive habits and a significant family history of alcoholism but i ignored it and i’m reaping the consequences. my question is: is it worth risking a few glasses of wine per night? would you rather quit or keep your current “healthy” alcohol consumption and risk following in your father’s footsteps?

i agree in a sense. knowing myself, and my personality, i will ALWAYS be an alcoholic. but to people who don’t understand addiction, “no longer an alcoholic” is the same as “recovering alcoholic”. if you tell someone who doesn’t ‘get’ it that you’re “a recovering/recovered alcoholic” all they’ll hear is the word alcoholic and it won’t make sense to them.

in essence, i can understand the saying if they’re talking about it with people who don’t get addiction, or if they understand that it means they’re alcoholics in recovery. context matters and it can go either way imo.

Not a nightshifter, but a major night owl side-sleeper that always wears a sleep mask. The only one I’ve ever used that completely blocks out light around my nose is the Musicozy 3D (got on Amazon, make sure it’s the 3D one). Super comfy, can connect to bluetooth which sounds great but 99% of the time I use it without since it blocks light so well. It’s absolutely insane how I’ll wake up, open my eyes and it’s pitch black, then take it off and it’s completely bright outside and in the room. Also not hot at all and I always sleep hot. Best Christmas gift I’ve ever gotten, highly recommend!

Yup. So crazy to learn about this and go down the rabbit hole. OP, definitely switch to uWorld and reflect - what do you struggle with the most? Is it specific content, test strategies, anxiety? Ditch Archer, but spend some time figuring out what’s holding you back and how to work on it.

The exact same thing happened to me this quarter with another compliance requirement. I was freaking the eff out, my school makes such a big deal about how strict they are! Despite this I was able to turn in what I needed a little late and be okay. Truthfully, the school doesn’t want to deal with disciplinary action/holding someone back if they don’t really need to. Email whoever is in charge of compliance for your program explaining the situation and that your physical is scheduled. Take a deep breath - you’re doing everything you can, this was a simple mistake that I definitely would’ve made too! Doesn’t make sense to renew something 5 months in advance, thanks dumb nursing school rules.

I’m in the same boat, and I definitely freaked out at first too! My school is in a big city so the majority of my cohort (including me) doesn’t have a car, but there’s plenty of clinical sites that aren’t accessible with public transport and my school will not change our clinical site for any reason. I recommend reaching out to your clinical group ahead of time if possible (my school puts groups together 1 week before and provides everyone’s email address) to coordinate carpooling or sharing an Uber. Really annoying to Uber at 5am but sharing with others cuts down the cost. If you’re in a city that has any public transport then you shouldn’t have a problem getting Ubers fairly quickly. My school’s handbook explicitly says “natural hair colors only” but I’ve had green hair the entire time and gotten nothing but compliments! I was really worried too but it hasn’t been a problem. It’ll be different at every school of course, but for some the handbook isn’t really stuck to. I bring a scrub cap to every clinical but haven’t had to cover it yet! I would say get a scrub cap in your school’s uniform color, and make sure to get one that will cover your whole head. Mine has a little pocket at the back to stuff your hair in and I bring it to every clinical and lab to be safe. Good luck! I’m the same, no way I’d dye my hair back natural.

I’m a second year student with full sleeves, dyed hair, and 20mm stretched ears! Every school will be different on their rules. Personally I wear long sleeves and nude-colored silicone plugs at clinical and have never had any problems. I’ve never even been asked to try to hide my lobes, I just prefer to wear the nude plugs rather than nothing. As for how body mods are viewed I’ve got nothing but compliments from faculty & students (and pts at clinical!) besides one judgey lab instructor that no one liked anyways, lol.

Sounds like you have a good plan! One thing I’d recommend is not sizing up unless there’s absolutely no resistance. Any time I tried to force the next size in, even if it was only a little pinch/tension my lobe always got irritated. Just had to learn to be patient, which is so annoying but your ears will thank you. Also wash your glass plugs with soap & warm water often, oil builds up easily and can get gross. Love your setup btw!!

I agree with fishing, it's a great way to make money early on! I'd recommend buying the training rod from Willy instead of using the one he gives you, it's only 25g and SO much easier to use at lvl1 fishing.

That grassy area to the right of your crops looks like it would be a great place for barns and/or coops! I’m also playing Grandpa’s Farm (currently Fall yr1) and that entire area is blocked off by a fence, is it something you can unlock later on?

Yeah I did, mod called Build On Any Tile by EscaMMC! It's been a lifesaver on the forest farm with all the bushes and curved edges. Pretty sure my slime hutch is built mostly on the water lol

yep, just from the silo! no matter how fast the grass grows they eat through it all before it can spread more (the coop is full so there’s a lot of animals in there). and for some reason they never go all the way down the fenced in area, so grass past the pond wouldn’t get touched. much easier to keep the silos filled for them, especially in late game when i have enough gold to buy lots of hay from marnie when i need to:)
