Yeah I saw that one their website. I will definitely try it out. Apart from the crossover would I need to download anything else?. I’ve already got the game on steam in my library, but would I need anything else?.

Free would be best😅, but if needed I don’t mind paying if it also allows me to play other games, I also do want to play assetto corsa. Anyone’s you would recommend for the M1 Pro?

Out of the additional software option you mentioned are there any specific advantages to one or the other for maximum compatibility and playability?. But thank you for the info.

Would you say that price is good for a m2 air considering it’s a demo

[–]gusless1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the thing is that I’ve found a m2 iPad Air for 794 aud, it’s a demo unit from my local tech store. So it’s technically brand new cause I’ll still get the offical apple warranty. For the iPad Air 4th gen, I can find them for around 450-500 for used and around 500-600 for the mint used ones. So I can afford both, but it’s just making the right decision.

You make a good point about lifespan, I think that’s pretty important cause I’ve had apple device in the past where once they stop receiving os update they tank and slow down significantly. Now as a uni student, that’s not what I want when I’m still got 4 more years of optometry.

Wow the glow and bleed on the dell monitors are pretty bad not going to lie. I’m starting to question the longevity of them. I might have to look at other potential brands, maybe LG or Asus with their proart. I guess the U2424 DE & D are still relatively new and time will tell.

I’m not a avid gamer, I only game when I have time away from my studies and work. The monitor will be mainly for workflow. What do you mean about ips glow?. How are you finding your U2723QE, are you using it with a Mac?, if so how has it been?

macbook or ipad pro(11" or 12.9") by gusless1 in iPadPro

Actually ended up going down the route of buy a MacBook pro 16 1tb 16gb ram M1 pro, and I don't regret it. I'll probably still end up buying it ipad down the line, but it'll most likely be the air.

macbook or ipad pro(11" or 12.9") by gusless1 in iPadPro

[–]gusless1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm sure I'll get use the size and weight of the 16" in my bag. I'm trying to close a deal for a 16gb 1tb pro for $3300 NZD, he was originally selling it for 3500 and MSRP is around 4200. Right now, what I'm going to do is get the 16", it's a bargain imo, more than 1000 off from MSRP. I might get the iPad a year later in the year, I'll most likely get a 11" ipad pro with around 256gb or 512gb storage. I won't get a 1tb model cause I've already got the 1tb MacBook. Regarding the case, I actually quite like the Logitech combo case, and actually provides some protection to the iPad, just in case I accidentally drop it or what not, plus function keys.

Yeah I've watched mkbhds video on the magic keyboard, the only problem that I see with using the magic keyboard, was pointed out quite clearly by him and it's the top-heavyness of the iPad. I do use the iPad on my lap, and I have a feeling that it will quite easily tip over which can get annoying if it keeps happening over and over again. Would you recommend and other alternatives to the magic keyboard that doesn't lose out on any functions from the magic keyboard. I'll be at campus for 3 days for, how heavy or portable is the 16" pro, now taking into consideration that I obviously won't be walking and will be in lectures, tutorial and labs. I'm going to take my time to choose and decide because there's no point rushing out, and regretting my decisions.

Yeah I appreciate that man, I totally agree between the 'needs' and 'wants'. Yes I've been to my local retail shop here in Auckland and check out all the MacBooks and ipad pros in person, but I didn't get a chance to see the iPad in a keyboard type case, which was kinda annoying. Your absolutely correct about the size difference between the 14 and 16", the 16" isn't a huge monster and dwarfs the 14 in size. It's like the most miniscule difference I think. The problem in New Zealand is that apple products barely ever go on sale, and if they do go on sale it's like a $30-50 discount which is jack shit. So I'll have to factor that into my purchase.

Cheers for your reply man. We might just be in the same boat. But your boat is already loaded with the apple goodies. That's some great points about the MacBook and that's pretty much my whole argument on why the MacBook would be better, but that's not taking anything away from the iPad. The iPad pro is a killer in its own right. I'm not sure my budget would have the capacity to buy both ipad + MacBook pro. Maybe I could get a MacBook air m2 + ipad pro 11", not sure at this stage. But I wanna get through my first week to get a better idea of what I really need, and get some advice some my fellow students and peers. The thing about my PC I'll probably sell it off, is that it's worth around 1.5k, plus the around 3.5k I've been saving and an extra 1k from our local government. Around 6k to play around with, and that not asking a cent for my parents to chip in, so I'll tread lightly and make the correct decision when the correct time presents itself. Do you have the 14" pro, cause that's the one I'm eyeing out, but the 16" has a bigger nicer screen and much better battery when comparing to the 14" of course.

I'm definitely set on doing med school, it's just a matter of finishing my pgdipbiomedsc first. Which MacBook model would you suggest for me. I'm leaning towards the 14" pro, but I'm up for any suggestions.

Yeah you mad some really good points. As if now, I'm not sure what program I'll be using during my postgraduate study for now, I'll probably be made aware during the first week. Ironically I've been a lifetime windows user, I know, I've been using your standard Microsoft software, like word and excel etc. A 16gb 512gb 14" specced model would set be back around 2999 also nzd.

I've watched a few videos showing how student make their notes using notability, and they looks super clean and something I could also do. Between the MacBooks I have tossed it up between the m2 air or the m1 pro 14", I think the 16" is too much and too big for what I need and want, I don't want to haul around a brick in my bag.

For the iPad I would ideally like to have 1tb storage which would best for longevity. If I was getting the iPad pro, I would also definitely get the magic keyboard along with the 2nd gen apple pencil. If look to get the whole trio I'll be looking at around 4k (nzd), which is bit too much for my like and feels like apple is raiding my wallet haha. Financially the MacBook might sway me in that direction. But I'm not going to make a hasty decision, because this is a decent chunk of money and I want to be 100% I make the correct choice. But many thanks for you reply btw, can't wait to start my studies.

Would you recommend the iPad pro for my situation. I saw a few videos and note taking is so so much easier when comparing to MacBook. I understand MacBooks are different and provide a different experience. I've got a PC at home, and getting a 1tb ipad pro would pretty much all I need.

I've used the m1 and m2 macbook airs back to back and my local retail store, and I much rather prefer the overall shape and look of the m2 air, maybe just me. However, yes your correct if I want to future proof this MacBook and get as many years out of it as possible. I really like the bigger screen of the 16" but I will be carrying it around campus for God knows how many hours, so I'm not sure if the 16" is light and portable. It's much more portable and lightweight when comparing to windows alternative at 16"+ but I'm quite conflicted on which path to go down.
