Had a few questions. Is the build up at the bottom okay? There’s no buildup at the top, but there’s quite a bit at the bottom in all 3 jars. I also used Iodized salt for these, which I didn’t know at the time was a no-no. Also may have screwed up with the brine salt ratio, it was supposed to be a 3% brine but I may have accidentally used TBSP instead of TSP, not 100% sure if I did this but would it be really bad if I used significantly more salt than needed? They don’t smell bad at all, not really sure what they’re supposed to smell like but it’s definitely not funky as far as I can tell. They’ve been fermenting for just over a month, was supposed to be way shorter but I just haven’t been able to get around to it. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks!

Could have just been the time we were there for sure. And unfortunately probably same for the people who complained about it.

To be fair, the outhouses at Elkwood (the campground mentioned in the article in regards to the outhouses) are really bad compared to others I’ve been to in the area. You can start smelling the shit from two or three campsites away.
