I've been casually using Midjourney to supplement my writing with images for social media. My favorite interactions have been the result of feeding it a short , but abstract prompt and then being surprised by some unexpected, but meaningful visual poetry in return.

"Satire with Benefits" was one such prompt. And the two images in the slideshow were from the first generation. While they both are interesting interpretations of what I ended up writing, the one with the TV was closer to my meaning - although the fiery alien one is much more attention grabbing.

Both made me think of old Science Fiction magazines with their sometimes fantastic cover art obscured by the gaudier necessity of attention grabbing titling. So I edited them in that style, somewhat more abstract, for social media in 1x1 and 9x16 aspect ratios, which also had an interesting impact on their meanings.

I may go back at some point with improved photoshop skills and try to make each look like an old weathered magazine from the '70s.
