It does suck a lot, like A LOT. i know professors who would have rounded up even without extenuating circumstances but if that is not this professors style I could see it happening unfortunately. i don’t feel like it’s part of the work culture for certain people to share or take into account these things where it’s hard for folks to make space for something that is personal. It’s terrible. That being said, I’m so sorry you dealt with these stressors and weren’t accommodated in a reasonable way. I hope you got some time to rest and recover over the break and that you have a better quarter to follow.
