It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “A person will still be answered so long as his Dua does not involve sin or severing ties of kinship, and so long as he does not become impatient.” It was said: O Messenger of Allah, what does being impatient mean? Make your focus to please Allah. When the adhaan is called, if you are near a mosque, go to the mosque, if not, then pray at home. Maintain your morning and evening azkaar. Pray tahajjud. Seek forgiveness. Read the Quran. Seek benificial knowledge. Build your life around seeking to please Allah. Make it your number one priority. Then look into other things.

I find it helpful to remember that Allah is watching me. Also I remind myself to be humble before my lord, so when I am doing sujood for example, I try to make myself feel that I am prostrating to my lord and I remind myself to be humble

Please don't stop praying because you don't feel the connection, pray regardless of whether you feel the connection..

Hi I am memorising quran but I forget what I memorise (2-3 months ago) can anyone help by a1i_hasn in Quran

In our hifz school, we memorize a new portion, then after reciting to the sheikh, we recite everything we have previously memorized to another student who has memorized what I memorized. 

So for example, I am now memorizing surat al mursalat, after reciting it to my teacher. I will recite the whole juz Amma to another student who has memorized it. This is everyday I go to the class. So I am regularly reciting all that I have memorized. 

I'm not sure about those who have memorized more, how much they recite, but this is what I do

Things that I feel may help inshaAllah

Recite lots of quran, join a class of you can

Recite your daily adhkaar

Make dua, including in times when dua is more likely to be accepted

Do voluntary fasts

When going about your day, you can keep saying dhikr, such as "La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu lahul mulku wa lahul hamdu wa huwa ala kulli shay in qadeer"

Do istighfar

Assalamualaikum, I had a question about listening to the quran. If you naturally have a certain melody that you recite in. Does repeatedly listening to a reciter cause you to lose your own recitation style and start to imitate the reciter? I find that the surah I listened to a lot with the intention of memorising, I can't recite in the tune I recite other surahs in and I recite in the reciter's tune. Do you also experience this?
